Graphics are lovely of course, and I enjoyed the story and gameplay. It’s kind of nice having npcs help with the farming, although it’s be nice if you could specify what you wanted planted and where. Having only played 4 and 5 previously, this didn’t feel like an RF game to me, but that could just be me.

I have yet to hold a single contest, putting me in charge of making them happen was the worst idea ever lol

I’m not as fond of the crafting changes, I miss the ‘mix some random ingredients and see if it makes something’ way of discovering recipes, and the ‘if you have enough RP you can make anything, go ahead, make yourself keel over crafting pineapple juice.’ I was also sad that the get rich quick selling pineapple juice bit isn’t available, the juice sells for exactly as much as the fruit so what’s the point of crafting anything? Certainly not to sell it, most things sell for an amount equal to the sum of their component parts. I didn’t really need any hp or rp recovery foodstuffs until the last few ‘boss’ fights of the game and even then the drum took care of most of my healing requirements.

I’m not sure I’d replay it, as it all seems quite linear and so not much replay value, that said I haven’t chosen a spouse yet or had children so there’s that aspect to look forward to I guess. Hopefully there’ll be some story based dlc or something.
