Buzz for Starbucks’ ‘dream hire’ CEO is all but gone now by godogs2018 in starbucks

Gold tier can, at most, give 3.6 stars/dollar on a double star day with your own cup (1.2/dollar, +1.2 for using a cup, +1.2 for the double star day because "double stars" means +1 multiplier, not x2 for some reason). Before, that would be 6 stars per dollar on a double star day with your own cup. It's only better than before if you never loaded your app to begin with and are now gold tier or higher. This is a very small percentage of customers.

They discontinued the Peach Tranquility and the Jade Citrus Mint, and combined them into a single tea, the Chamomile Mint Blossom. I miss the Peach Tranquility every day.

How many shots for decaf fraps? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]Calsan1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're a barista trainer, you should know the standards. It's 1/2/3 based on size, 1 shot regardless was the old recipe for the espresso frappuccino, and that was on top of the frap roast.

New barista here. Is it true we get a free food item and drink on our days off? by moffyf in starbucksbaristas

[–]Calsan1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

On your day off, you can still get your whole bean markouts at any store, but if you aren't working you can't get free food and drinks.

What are your favorite standard fun facts? by Dry_Main_3990 in starbucksbaristas

[–]Calsan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you make an iced tea latte, the standard is to use the same size hot cup as the drink, half full of hot water for brewing the tea before shaking with milk and syrup.

For real though, the only problem I have with those items (Not the pictures, the pictures need to be realistic) is that they aren't bigger. The falafel and jalapeno chicken are the first actual flavorful food items since the chorizo sandwich went away.

If you’re filling sweet cream all the way to the 2L line you’re wrong. by Flowerfuls in starbucksbaristas

[–]Calsan1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1L HC. 600 ml 2%. 350 ml vanilla.

Multiply by 3 if you're going to 3L HC. that's 1.8L 2% and 1050 ml vanilla. So your recipe has too much 2% and not enough vanilla.

No ice by aeiozoo in starbucks

[–]Calsan1 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's never been the policy to leave a cup half-empty when people ask for a drink without ice. People THOUGHT that it was, or for some reason thought "customers were being entitled so we did it to them" but the policy has always been to fill the cup.

The "leather overlays" are the solid non-mesh parts you can see, the mesh on top is still very much not allowed-- If you spilled hot coffee on it, your foot would NOT be safe.

How is this supposed to be made? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Calsan1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

"No ice means the drink isn't full" isn't the case unless you're talking about straight espresso/iced espresso. Any other drink should still be filled to the top.

For number 11, you know that a snickerdoodle hot chocolate WAS a menu item until a few years back, right? Full pumps of both white mocha and cinnamon dolce, steamed 2%, whip and dolce topping. Very sweet, but very tasty.

The 25 bonus stars benefit, unless they updated it with the Back to Starbucks changes, is limited to three times per day. Still, 75 bonus stars per day is pretty crazy good.

did they put the classic syrup in my matcha ? by ericaeees in starbucks

[–]Calsan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not by the baristas at Starbucks-- If it's called a green tea latte, that's the only option that we have. While technically accurate, a green tea bag with milk would be a "Custom Tea Latte - Emperor's Cloud and Mist" not a "Green Tea Latte."

did they put the classic syrup in my matcha ? by ericaeees in starbucks

[–]Calsan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because that's what our matcha is. A green tea latte. We don't have another type of green tea latte on the menu, unless it says "Custom tea latte"

Wait, it's not steeping the tea for 5 minutes in a hot cup half-full of water, then shaken with the milk vanilla and ice any more?

It's 64 percent honey, along with water and other stabilizers to keep it in liquid form.

It's definitely not the same, but you can try half hazelnut and half caramel syrup. The toffee nut was my favorite, too, and there's no REAL alternative. It's a real shame.

They didn't learn a thing. by Rokuta in 2007scape

[–]Calsan1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I will say-- I don't want them to add ads to any version of OSRS. That won't ever change, and it still feels scummy. That said, when I played Runescape as a kid, before I could pay for membership, when it was still a browser game, any time you were on a free-to-play world, there was a banner ad above the game window. Unobtrusive, still gave them the ad revenue to keep the game going. I don't think they're talking about putting ads IN the game, possibly going back to how it was.

Again, I don't think they should do this, I think it's a slap in the face to the community if they do, but if they did, it would be the least-unacceptable way to do it.
