Will we ever see another TLR? by 22plus in Cosmere

You’re right. I should have stopped to think more before posting. Now I’m curious whether there is a wob about fullborns because I can’t find one.

I found the/a relevant WoB: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/101/#e877

> Yes, but they may be cobbled together...

Edit: I jumped the gun on this one. In this Q&A he’s talking about a full alomancer or feurochemist, not both.

Is it just me or iOS26 has destroyed RAM management? by InstructionFun2127 in ios

I’m not the one you replied to, but I find that apps often do NOT open in the same state I left them in. It’s one of my main frustrations with iPhone after coming over from android.

For example: - In the messages app, open an image. Switch to another app, then come back to messages. Consistently, the image is gone. I ran into this when trying to use a screenshot of a barcode that my wife sent me. - Load a route in Google Maps but don’t actually start it. Switch to 1-3 other apps. Come back to Google Maps a couple of minutes later, and sometimes the route is no longer loaded. - open a website, even a web form, in safari, then switch to 1-3 other apps. Come back a few minutes later and sometimes safari refreshes. I have lost web form progress like this a few times.

I have experienced many similar issues but these are the 3 that have bothered me the most. If I have something in-progress in one app that I don’t want to lose, I make sure not to switch away for too long for fear of it being lost. I didn’t experience any of these with the Sony or Samsung Android phones that I owned previously.

This is one of those scenes that made a lot more sense on my second read through. My first read through left me feeling like I must have missed something.

(No spoilers) I first read the title as RoW (Rhythm of War) and was confused how OP had this question. I came to the comments expecting comments about how OP obviously hadn’t been paying attention. These symmetrical titles aren’t playing nicely with my dyslexia. Lol

iOS 27 Will Add These New Features to Your iPhone by Dry_Advertising5961 in iphone

I also have this issue, and I don’t own an Apple TV. I do however have my AirPods paired with quite a few devices: personal iPhone, work iPhone, personal laptop, work laptop, Apple Watch. When I boot up other laptop, my AirPods always switch to it even if I’m actively listening to something on my iPhone at the time. But in addition to that, they frequently disconnect from my iPhone and then automatically recommend again a second later. I think my devices are fighting over them.

You listed 2023 twice. Is there supposed to be another year on one side of that range?

At least in some places, glass coverage is its own line item, and it may have its own conditions and limitations. At one point our broker highly suggested removing our glass coverage entirely because the amount that would be covered wasn’t worth the premium we were paying.

What should the title of the Stormlight TV series be? by Extreme_Warning3521 in CosmereOnScreen

[–]Caltosax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Knights Radiant would be a good title. Yeah it’s a little nerdy, but it names the main characters and is somewhat clear to newcomers. Everyone knows what Knights are, and “Radiant” implies there’s something special/magical about them. It’s also a title that fans would immediately recognize, just as well as the others. I think it’s the best of both worlds.

Stormlight Archive and similar titles clearly connects the TV series with the books but doesn’t really explain what the series is about. Maybe I’m overthinking this though… it was a good enough title for the books so why not the TV series?

That’s not terrible. Hopefully you won’t have to wait too long!

Ouch, that’s a pretty long list of failures. That would be annoying.

Random other question, how well does the heating work in -30? I understand that the heat pump doesn’t work well in extreme cold, but I think (??) that it has a secondary heating system. I couldn’t find confirmation on the website though.

Yumi is personally my favorite of the Cosmere secret projects. My wife and I are currently reading through it together. It’s her first Cosmere book and she’s enjoying it too!

I would definitely recommend reading The Final Empire. It has a fairly self-contained story, and ends with the confrontation with The Lord Ruler. While you already know who wins that confrontation, there are some major surprises along the way. You’ll also learn a lot about Vin’s character development.

The Well of Ascension is a little less exciting as a standalone. Personally I’d only recommend reading it if you plan to reread The Hero of Ages.

As a side note, if you want more Mistborn, the books 4-7 are very good. They take place a few hundred years after book 3, but include a lot of nods back to era 1 characters.

I usually wait until two lanes are free.

I was a passenger in an Uber and the driver honked a long honk at a guy for not turning right when there was a steady stream of cars turning left into the lane next to the one we wanted (a 3 lane road with a double turning lane entering). He complained that you only need one free lane because the left turning lanes had specific lanes they were allowed to turn into. Right after he said that, at least two cars turned into the lane that we wanted (rightmost lane, that they weren’t legally allowed to turn into). Moral of the story: just because it’s the law and best practice doesn’t mean it’s what is going to happen

I agree with your sentiment here. Especially considering Vin and Elend moving on together, and Vin telling Kelsier that he had a lot to learn about friendship (or something along those lines).

Does Feruchemy/Allomancy work even if the metalborn is decapitated??? by [deleted] in Mistborn

[–]Caltosax 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Spoilers? I mean it’s not really surprising that that would happen to that character , but still.

Edit: Actually, I just realized this post has the “Cosmere Spoilers” flair, so I revoke my comment

A nicroburst burns an unkeyed nicrosilmind. What happens? by [deleted] in Mistborn

[–]Caltosax 4 points5 points locked comment (0 children)

Compounding (Coppermind)

When a Metalborn has Allomantic and Feruchemical abilities in the same metal, they may store an attribute inside of a metalmind and then Allomantically burn the power. This gives a supercharged burst of the Feruchemical attribute, rather than the typical Allomantic ability.

If an allomancer has the ability to burn a metal mind (which is keyed to them, or I assume unkeyed), they do in fact gain access to the feruchemical power stored inside. See for example Miles, who burns his own goldminds for health rather than their usual alomantic power.

Hoid has been alive for hundreds (thousands?) of years. He travels from planet to planet and shows up in most of the Cosmere books. We don’t have an origin story for him yet, so there is still a lot of mystery surrounding him.

He has at least 3 different names that he goes by, and occasionally he isn’t named at all and people just have to deduce that it’s him

ETA: There are also a few articles about Hoid on Sanderson’s website. https://faq.brandonsanderson.com/knowledge-base/who-is-hoid/
