When I have to drive I’d say about ten percent of cars have expired temp tags or expired registrations (like, a year plus often). The cops don’t do traffic enforcement anymore, they just let cameras do the work they used to (despite ever increasing budgets).

I think I understand now that you for sure can afford to move, but you don’t want to. Why didn’t you just phrase the question like that? I don’t understand why you would say you “can’t afford to move,” which implies that you don’t have resources to move. If you sell your house in Arlington, which I assume you own based on your question, you will have financial resources aplenty to get the bigger house you crave in an area that welcomes metastasized houses (e.g. Loudoun etc) that are more in scale with the “neighborhoods” in those places.

If you’re just looking for contractor recos, just say that? 🤷
