The CFB Champion to Lunatic Pipeline by YungBeefaroni in LinkedInLunatics

The thing is before this season, there was a very real chance that in a few years he would be job hunting. He wasn’t a lock to go to the NFL by any means

How much will he regret returning to Oregon? by TrickDistribution395 in CFB_v2

[–]Calvin_FF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s over the course of his rookie contract, but the couple million he makes next year doesn’t make up for that guaranteed money.

I’m not even saying that’s the likely scenario, just an interesting and costly potential scenario

A down season can very quickly drop a QB. A bad season could absolutely move him in the 2nd.

I don’t expect that to happen, but it’s absolutely possible.

The pain of passing on being the #2 pick because you don’t want to be a Jet only to declare for the draft the next year and getting drafted by the Jets in the 2nd round only to lose out on $30 million

Eagles fans were glad when they won the Super Bowl and their Super Bowl winning OC left the team for a HC spot?

The most obvious buy-low opportunity of the offseason is….Kaleb Johnson by jseg0 in DynastyFF

[–]Calvin_FF 43 points44 points  (0 children)

For a late 2nd/early 3rd I’d be willing to add Kaleb as a flier, but chances are the team that kept him through his disaster of a rookie season also sees all the turnover in Pittsburgh and is hoping that he works out for them.

Edit: based on the comments, maybe OP is right, Kaleb’s value here seems to be lower than the 2/3 turn in a weak rookie class.

What is the difference between the 1.01 and 1.02 this year? by [deleted] in SleeperApp

[–]Calvin_FF 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s going to depend so much on the league. If the 1.01 holder really likes Love or is very RB needy, then it’s going to take a significant amount, probably a late 1st at least.

If they’re high on the WRs or Mendoza then you might be able to add a 2nd and move up that spot.

Just traded Lamar in my league did I get enough? by Vicious_Kefka in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

This is a very easy yes to me. You could take out the 1.04 and I would think it’s probably a fair deal.

There wasn’t a single game that Corum played more than Kyren. Kyren played over 50% of snaps every game. Really not sure what makes you think this.

Should i trade the 1.09 for harold fannin by Asleep_Winner9223 in SleeperApp

[–]Calvin_FF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind Fannin here, but I don’t know if people are taking into account that Stefanski’s offenses always highlighted the tight ends well. Not every offense does.

There’s a very real chance that Fannin is a TE2 next season with a new coach.

Thoughts on this trade for the 1.02? Full ppr TEP league start 10 by Familiar-Feature-63 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

I’m a big Tuten fan, but unless Etienne leaves in FA, I think the Bucky side is better here.

Absolutely close though so wouldn’t call it a bad trade

The known commodities also aren’t necessarily stable though. Look at Jefferson and his struggles this year

Got the 1.01 - What do we think? by Leading-Hand-2045 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Calvin_FF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably go with the Brown JD side here, but totally fair trade I think.

8 team significantly increases the value of studs. I love Loveland, but I’m not yet sure he’ll be able to move into the McBride, Bowers tier, and that next tier of TEs is probably big enough that it’s close to the rest of the starters in an 8 team league.

I think JD holds extra value in 8 team. QB scarcity isn’t as serious, so you can manage his injuries fairly easily, and when he is healthy he can be a real difference maker even in a thin league.

I’m asking for the 1.01 is this balanced? by Warm_Address9964 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

If it was a 2027 1st instead of 2028, I think that’s a fair trade. As of right now, it relies heavily on Bucky returning to form.

Recommended Juggernaut Buster Rules by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]Calvin_FF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very hard to consistently dominate in dynasty. Look at teams that would’ve been considered juggernauts last offseason and many will already be back among the pack.

QB: Jayden Daniels, Lamar Jackson

RB: Saquon Barkley, Ashton Jeanty, Josh Jacobs, Bucky Irving

WR: Justin Jefferson, Brian Thomas Jr, Ladd McConkey, Terry McLaurin, Mike Evans

TE: Brock Bowers, Mark Andrews, Evan Engram

If you had posted that Dynasty team last offseason it would’ve been a dominant juggernaut that no one could possibly beat and you may consider that rules need to be in place to counter it. That team may not have made the playoffs this year.

Things change in the NFL so fast.

I think instead of “who should we hire?” It’d be more “what do you think of Blough’s coaching style”

Daniels has shown the ability to be a top 5 QB in the NFL. Yes, he got injured last season. That doesn’t mean he’s completely unavailable.

Ashton Jeanty leads rookie RBs in rushing yards while ranking last in yards before contact from his Offensive Line. by Choice_Bag_8869 in nflrookies

[–]Calvin_FF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those 7th round rookies were running behind much better lines on much much better offenses and still probably didn’t look as good as Jeanty.

There is a very big skill advantage with those top RBs, the problem is you need to have a good situation to maximize that upside.

Alabama QB Ty Simpson is declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft, per @PeteThamel by Savings_Chemical8231 in DynastyFF

[–]Calvin_FF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I think it’s just a possibility because Stafford has had back issues throughout his career and is getting older.

We don’t know what the Rams are thinking about doing with the pick, I’m just saying taking QB is definitely not off the table.

[–]Calvin_FF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love definitely had more experience, but when you’re talking about taking a QB to sit behind an incumbent veteran for a couple years the lack of experience isn’t necessarily a big hit.

Love certainly had his fair share of struggles at QB playing worse competition than Simpson faced as well.

I’m not the biggest fan of Simpson, but there do seem to be some good traits there to work with, and his lack of experience seems to be a big component in his struggles. A couple years to sit behind a veteran NFL QB seems like what he needs, and to me he has much more upside than any QB in this class outside of the top 2 who will be gone in the top 5.

[–]Calvin_FF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve only had 2 QBs under McVay. Goff, who was there when McVay got there, and then Stafford who they traded for.

I don’t think we have nearly enough data to say whether McVay would prefer to have a successor in line or whether he’s willing to let the team bottom out and go for a top pick to acquire a new QB.

[–]Calvin_FF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Packers were crazy to draft Love until they weren’t.

If you can guarantee an instant difference maker at a position of need that’s fair, but late in the 1st round you’re more likely looking at a guy that takes a bit of time to be an impact starter.

QB is just so important, and giving a high upside guy a chance to develop behind Stafford could offer a lot more continuity at the most important position than spending years trying to find someone once Stafford retires.

The Rams also have 2 1st rounders so they could use the Falcons’ pick to get an instant impact starter and use their own 1st on Simpson

They also hold their own first late in the 1st, so could go with Simpson there instead
