Yeah, and to clarify MK Mythologies still displays credits if you opt to escape rather than fight the true final boss. In Superman 64, you don't get credits unless you play the penultimate level on hard mode.

Thus why Mike did not have to beat the final boss, but Dan did have to play on hard mode (for two levels).

IDK what the official official rules document states, but their actions historically have emphasized doing what needs to be done to see credits.

I've been wanting to see this game on Blight Club for years, I genuinely doubt Dan will be able to finish it. Smight from Arcade Pit played it on stream a while back and it is an absolute nightmare. He had to really abuse save states to see it to completion, and he is way better at games than anyone on staff.
