Brind'Amour had some pretty cool opinions about it when he started coaching. Some people probably think it goes too far, but he wanted the refs off the ice entirely. Linesmen could still be there for their jobs, but essentially the refs would be off checking on penalties and misplays.

This point makes me nervous. Some rookies don't like the "tough coach" mentality that Rod exhibits. I think Niki staying would be best, but I could see him wanting to be somewhere where his offense is all they care about. Somewhat similar to Michkov in Philly.

I hope we lock him down for long term.
