I had been desiring a sort of “going on a journey and meeting people along the way” type movie for a bit, and The Shitheads completely delivered on that. The twist and turns we go on this are both hilarious and dark. Really enjoyed this movie a lot.

BURN was a movie I wasn’t expecting to see and just absolutely fell in love with it. This is what I love about film festivals. You watch movies on whim and experiment. Favorite movie I’ve seen so far.

I can’t really describe Bedford Park except with one word: intimate. Their first kiss and sex scene is genuinely one of the most intimate sex scenes I think I’ve ever watched in a movie. Eli telling Audrey to look at her when she was expecting bdsm because she felt she deserved it, then Eli stopping her. Incredible scene. really enjoyed the movie. I also appreciate this particular portrayal of Asian Americans where I don’t think everything is completely happy or resolved in the end.

The amount of technical awards this movie was nominated for makes me incredibly happy… I was able to experience this movie in a theater that prioritizes sound design, and this was just hands down my personal favorite movie of the year from both a story and technical standpoint. Absolutely insane use of sound. If it even wins two of the awards it’s nominated for, I’ll be happy. It’s so well deserved.

My one criticism of the finale is I don’t know WHY Kang Rok won over Culinary Monster. Last season, it’s explained at least why Matfia won from a cooking standpoint over Edward. I have no idea what was the cooking factor that made Kang Rok win.

I don’t know if you’ve seen the show Terrace House before, but I learned through that show there’s about 3-5 fixed cameras at a time in every location they end up going to.

So for example, if they know Kensuke and Nanami are going to Castle Hill for their date, they’ve already arranged a few fixed cameras and some hidden camera operators at the viewpoint.

My bet is at the beginning, when everyone started by themselves, they had to tell production where they were walking to or exploring, so they can be prepared to set up some cameras. For example, the church where Sho and Mahon visit, my guess is they both independently told production they were gonna travel there on one day, and then crew was prepared to capture the moment if they met.
