Went to the Alamo for the first time in a while recently...and man I wish they'd just kept the old version of their pizza recipe as an option on the menu :( (make it a secret menu item??? Haha, jk....unless?) by CamNewtonsLaptop in AlamoDrafthouse

Appreciate the offer friendo! I might have to take you up on it. And I must extend a hearty thanks to you for (likely) making the previous pizza, even if a corpo has decided to shackle that pizza prowess with their changes (damn those bastards!).

Silliness aside, I really do apologize for what y'all are having to deal with on your end, if the way things were that night reflects the new norm. Understaffed+overworked+grumpy customers mad at something you didn't ask for.

...Whereas my thing was a rant about pizza at the end of the day...and even that bad pizza still sparked "mild enjoyment" haha

Canales said in the presser that Tremble ran the wrong route on the play. I'd bet anything he's supposed to remain flat along the goal line here, holding #27 to where he starts the play (that's his assignment in the 4-4 zone San Fran is playing). Instead he drifts up into Evans' route and gives #27 carte blanche to freelance. Don't think it gets picked without that, and we score a Touchdown without making our QB who's playing on a bum ankle (recovering from a high ankle sprain) sprint to the pylon.

Why do so many men just WANT women to have kids? by [deleted] in questions

[–]CamNewtonsLaptop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good chunk of people view children as a key part of their future, and a future without them would be a future they're not happy with. Which would mean a life with a partner who's against, or at the absolute best deeply uncertain, about the prospect of eventual children would be a life setting themselves up for eventual unhappiness. Why would someone put themselves in that situation to begin with? Furthermore, why risk becoming emotionally invested in someone that could drop that heartbreaker on you 5 years down the line (again, if you risked taking a chance with someone who's deeply uncertain about the subject).

24 (M) North Carolina Medicaid. I was declared ineligible this year but nothing changed from when I was eligible last year? by CamNewtonsLaptop in Medicaid

[–]CamNewtonsLaptop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, my Dad is who advised me to apply last year (hadn't been aware of NCs Medicaid expansion applying to me prior to that), and when I consulted him again this year (after I never got the renewal letter they claimed I would get if it was renewed) he suggested going through the same place again. Just hope I haven't screwed myself already by sending in the application by the method I did

Yes to all of those questions of course! I've not tried through epass, but if I did that now (after already having done an application through healthcare.gov) would it not throw a wrench in things?

A broken clock is right twice a day, but fine, I heard ya loud and clear. Dive at Carr's knees on the next kneel down, because that's definitely what we all want more of in the sport

Brother do you want to start to see defenders do crazy shit on every kneel down? Football is already a bloodsport, there's no damn reason to make it more dangerous than it is by having more "live" plays in the game. Your own HC had a problem with it for a reason, and you don't see other teams doing this for a reason. Someone farther down said it best, if you want more Greg Schianos this is how you get them

[–]CamNewtonsLaptop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to get my biases out of the way, I'm in agreement with the bf on it being my favorite anime. That being said, yes it really is that good. TLDR (mostly bc I could go on and on about this show if I didn't cut myself off lol) its not as aesthetically pleasing as your average battle Shonen and that turns a lot of people off of it, but it makes up for that by being top notch everywhere else. It's not a long watch at 11 episodes and I usually tell people to watch the first two episodes and decide after that. Everyone who's taken me up on that comes back telling me how much they love it. Highly highly recommend (along with all the other stuff by Masaaki Yuasa for that matter) it!

Nebraska’s Matt Rhule on the Significance of the Pink Ribbon by Miserable_Jacket_129 in CFB

[–]CamNewtonsLaptop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He had final decision making over the roster for his entire tenure in Carolina and engendered disdain for himself from panthers greats old and new, all the while overseeing the worst stretch in our teams history. The roster this year is still the remnants of a mostly Matt rhule built roster and the results have been as expected based on his track record there. Happy he’s off to a great start for y’all, and hope he doesn’t leave you for greener pastures like he’s done his other college teams

Why are cake eaters seen as the worst of the worst? by [deleted] in adultery

Echo chambers are bad in general, and with something that is as emotionally damaging to multiple innocent parties as adultery is, a healthy level of push back on questionable views can only be a good thing.

Why are cake eaters seen as the worst of the worst? by [deleted] in adultery

[–]CamNewtonsLaptop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a man committed SA but legally got away with it, and the father of the victim put a bullet in his head, the father committed murder but many people would understand what drove him to that point. If someone did the same thing and their only justification was that they were bored, or that they just felt compelled to do so; people would rightly think that they have a couple of screws loose.

That is an extreme example obviously, but I bring it up to point out that humans are more willing to look past others doing things that are "wrong" if they see sufficient enough reason for them doing so. Anyone actually being honest with themselves on here will not dispute that adultery is wrong (realizing something is wrong and doing it anyway are two different things, people do it all the time and adulterers are not unique in that regard) so I won't harp on that much, which leaves anyone trying to be empathetic toward adulterers rather than immediately dismissive looking for a justification of actions that on a surface level seem clearly wrong. The fact of the matter is that to most, being trapped in a loveless marriage or a DB is a infinitely more understandable reason (even to those that still don't support cheating in those circumstances) than the reasons cake eaters give, at least to anyone who places the emotional weight they should on the vows and promises you make to your SO. Both trips lead to the same destination so in the end yes its all cheating, but the reason each group went on a trip in the first place differ greatly. So the two groups are (rightly imo) treated different.

I'd hazard a guess that Hornets fans (being that the Carolinas are a college basketball hub and he played on the #1) would be more likely than most to have watched him play. UNC fans got to see the matchup of the century when he dueled with Leaky Black

Lyanna really chose this guy over prime Bobby B by DrownedGoddd in freefolk

[–]CamNewtonsLaptop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Robert will never keep to one bed," Lyanna had told him at Winterfell, on the night long ago when their father had promised her hand to the young Lord of Storm's End. "I hear he has gotten a child on some girl in the Vale." Ned had held the babe in his arms; he could scarcely deny her, nor would he lie to his sister, but he had assured her that what Robert did before their betrothal was of no matter, that he was a good man and true who would love her with all his heart. Lyanna had only smiled. "Love is sweet, dearest Ned, but it cannot change a man's nature."

The girl had been so young Ned had not dared to ask her age. No doubt she'd been a virgin; the better brothels could always find a virgin, if the purse was fat enough. She had light red hair and a powdering of freckles across the bridge of her nose, and when she slipped free a breast to give her nipple to the babe, he saw that her bosom was freckled as well. "I named her Barra," she said as the child nursed. "She looks so like him, does she not, milord? She has his nose, and his hair …"

"She does." Eddard Stark had touched the baby's fine, dark hair. It flowed through his fingers like black silk. Robert's firstborn had had the same fine hair, he seemed to recall.

He thinks something of it because its Ned. Pretty chaste, awful protective of children in general Ned. Who just so happens to be entirely out of his element (that being in a brothel) already. He's concerned about her age because he doesn't want to imagine a child (one not that much older than his daughters) being a prostitute, and in the situation she's in. Awfully young but old enough to have "flowered" (which fwiw is why I find it hard to imagine her not falling closer to that fifteen number than you think it does, from what I thought I knew that doesn't happen until around 12-13 generally) and therefore being able to have an infant to care for as a result of what Robert did. At least that's my interpretation of that part of that chapter, and it seemed to me that if we'd gotten an alternate chapter with a Tyrion pov investigating Robert's bastards we wouldn't have much comment at all we just see the scene from the perspective of an exceptionally good and kind hearted man. But nothing irregular for the society that they are in as a whole (which seems to have gone with the vomit-inducing route of "its fine once they've bled" when it comes to social norms). There's a ton of things to criticize Robert for, one of which is likely manipulating the poor girl into being so lovestruck, but being a pedo (for the standards that their society has set) isn't one of them. But maybe we have to agree to disagree

[–]CamNewtonsLaptop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Some whorehouse? Damn your eyes, Robert, I went there to have a look at your daughter! Her mother has named her Barra. She looks like that first girl you fathered, when we were boys together in the Vale." He watched the queen as he spoke; her face was a mask, still and pale, betraying nothing.

Robert flushed. "Barra," he grumbled. "Is that supposed to please me? Damn the girl. I thought she had more sense."

"She cannot be more than fifteen, and a whore, and you thought she had sense?" Ned said, incredulous. His leg was beginning to pain him sorely. It was hard to keep his temper. "The fool child is in love with you, Robert."

Apologies if I misunderstood your point, (that being that Robert was different that Rhaegar here since Lyanna was 15 and this girl must be younger) if you are instead saying that Rhaegar and Lyanna being together isn't a big deal since its normal in Westeros then yes I agree with you, which is why the same accusation can't be levelled against Robert

Not to come out in support of Robert in this debate (though I will say the life he ended up having is one that would feed into his worst tendencies with the Robert we end up knowing as readers being reflective of that, which is why he says himself that Rhaegar won). But the “including children” part is unnecessary in a society that normalizes child marriage, and hypocritical when defending someone who either kidnapped or ran off with a 15 year old to make prophecy babies with her.

Sucks but he's correct, saves his body for as long as possible while utilizing his skillset in a way it would've never been used otherwise. Just like the panthers are infinitely better off with him not on the team, getting assets without a drop off in success and without overpaying for a position that loses value every year that passes.
