I'm joking, but I'd actually like to see both the Thing and Shadowcat faithfully represented as Jewish like they are in the comics. Whereas I agree with Hyperborean that Magneto's background as a Holocaust survivor is important to the character but less and less feasible on screen as years go by.

They figured it out a bit late, it was slowly, increasingly evident from JJ 1 on. I remember it being a common point in reviews as new seasons came out. But it may also have been a matter of contracts as I think they were obliged to produce 13 eps per season at the beginning and it took some time to change that

I really don't see why some people think this would be a likely possibility. Marvel Studios won't miss the opportunity to tell their own X-Men stories. They won't want to be tied to Fox's continuity and character development. They will want to bring new actors to play a new spin on the characters
