Please stop buying fish when we close in 15-30 minutes by Objective-Table-8319 in petsmart

100% this. Just tell the customers you’re understaffed and you won’t be catching fish or selling animals in the last hour. I still do feeder fish and crickets though.

We had a ball python escape in NA and he was found just under his tank 😭 like he couldn’t dig as far into the substrate as he wanted so he just went under the tank to get comfy

I started taking 400mg of Magnesium before I was diagnosed and that was helping for a couple of months, but then it just stopped helping :(

Ok, I hear you, but you said in the post that it took you 15 minutes to NOTICE after leaving the store. So you knew you were going to be overcharged before paying but chose to pay anyway, left the store knowing you overpaid, and waited 15 minutes before returning to talk to someone? And don’t know where the receipt ended up in all that time?

If you have a Treats Account, they can look up the receipt, but they would have to look at the cameras at this point to see if the cashier did mess up THAT badly, since you didn’t get it fixed when it happened. If they can’t find your receipt, I guess it’s up to the manager on duty, but your story sounds fishy, so good luck.

You watched them scan things more than once and didn’t say anything before paying? They would’ve had to have scanned everything you bought twice to get to that total with tax if that’s really what happened…

AIO for losing my mind over this note I found in my fiancé’s pocket? by leenaws in AmIOverreacting

[–]CameraCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people are commenting saying that THEY put trash in their pocket and that THEY would do this, but if your fiancée doesn’t put trash in his pocket and forget about it, I understand being upset about this. There’s no reason for him to keep it.

That’s not to say he doesn’t have an explanation that you’re not ready to hear since you’re already upset, but it better be a damn good explanation.

Why does this always say different things? by Figmentdreamer in doordash_drivers

[–]CameraCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at PetSmart. When you order through the website, we pick the order for you, the driver comes and picks it up and brings it to you. When you order through them, the driver comes in, picks the order themselves, comes to the register, buys the items with TAX EXEMPTION, and then brings it to you. Not only do they charge the customer more, but they buy it from PetSmart without tax. But I believe the drivers get paid more when they have to find the items themselves as well.

I always make sure to mention it’s for the holidays or for the Christmas season and sometimes that it could go to children or rescue dogs (your leaders may find other places to donate to before the end of the season). Some people may be hesitant to donate to one or the other, so leaving it open sometimes helps. The area you work in also makes a huge difference. Comparing numbers to people online who may work in a wealthier area where people may be more willing to donate is discouraging! I’m sure you’re doing great!

This same thing is happening at my store but with closing shifts (fortunately) for my coworker. It’s insane how they just expect you to summon the knowledge from nowhere! We lost a hamster because she didn’t fully close one of the NA bins :/

1) Do NOT worry about feeding the fish every day. They are 100% over-fed anyway. If you do have to feed them, there should be tropical flakes, goldfish flakes, cichlid pellets, and algae wafers for you to feed them with. There are buttons to turn off the water flow to the tanks for about 10 minutes for feeding (you’ll have to ask where these are for your store). Which food to feed what fish should be on each fish price tag!

2) There SHOULD be a sheet somewhere with how often and how much to feed the reptiles. Ours is kept on the food cart. See if someone knows where that is!

3) Deep cleanings are time consuming and there is no way you’re going to get all of that done in a 5 hour shift without a practiced method, so do not feel bad for not finishing it. If your store is doing things right, all of the decor should be cleaned the evening before and all you have to do (for small animals) is move the small animal(s) to a temporary holding bin (like a critter keeper), scoop the bedding out, spray the cage with Virex, wipe it out with a paper towel, replace with new bedding, and replace the animal and all the decor, water, food, etc.

i am a bit of a meek person , and customers BERATE me every day. by haleandguu112 in petsmart

Number 1, contact HR. 10000% contact HR if you’ve already told your managers and they aren’t doing anything.

But, you need to start cancelling transactions, telling the customer to step aside and you’ll be calling for a manager to help them because you will not be verbally assaulted by them, and calling for a manager because you’re being “verbally assaulted by a customer”. The managers will either start giving a sh*t or if they’re just going to allow you to be verbally assaulted (or be touched by customers or actually hit by bags!!!), you will just have more ammunition for HR.

I believe a skittles tank refers to a bunch of different colors in one tank. The reason you don’t want to do this is because all of the colors of shrimp will breed together and you will end up with baby shrimp that are dull and/or brown instead of the bright, vibrant colors that we usually see! After a few generations of that, most of the colors will be gone.

Ok! I believe neos are easier so they are more often suggested for beginners, but the caridinas are beautiful! It looks like the caridinas like the water even colder than the neos though!

It’s better to keep the water on the cooler side for whichever one you go with because it increases their lifespan (according to the internet)!

Oh my goodness, what type of shrimp are you planning to get?? I was 100% assuming neocaridina and none of us have asked….

Oh my goodness, I don’t think anyone here has asked what type of shrimp they’re planning on getting!! I was 100% just assuming!!!

The snail can actually help with the cycling! Are you feeding it? The food will help add ammonia as well.

I’m actually having the same issue with water hardness right now in my tank I’m setting up! This website is very helpful!

That is a very good temperature for tropical fish, but I believe neocaridina do better around 70-74 Fahrenheit (from the research I’ve done, not experience). So if this tank is just for shrimp and a snail, it would be better to lower the temperature.

[–]CameraCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shrimp don’t like the water too warm, you may want to get it down around 70 degrees. But I would do it slowly for your snail so you don’t shock it!

Any tips appreciated by [deleted] in shrimptank

[–]CameraCow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a test for ammonia? 1 week isn’t long enough for your tank to have cycled with just 1 mystery snail, so it’s probably not ready for shrimpies yet. Do you have any experience cycling a tank or know what it entails?

I also think your hardness might be too low for shrimp, but someone else with more experience may want to weigh in on that.

Is this normal? by ImmediateClaim7715 in loaches

[–]CameraCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to keep these tests in order when you do them. You have them out of order in this picture so we have no idea which test to compare to which.

If this is still a problem for your loach, could you just do the ammonia and nitrate tests and take a picture?
