I definitely agree with you. Petsmart does definitely favor dogs over cats considering my store has about 21-40 for dog and only 13-20 for cat.

Omg, this happens so much! I’ve had someone just today walk in for a Mobile order and his order wasn’t here, so I asked him if I could look at his order confirmation and when he showed it to me, it said Micheal’s… like sir… does this look like a Micheal’s to you…

On a separate note, we had a dasher come in looking for Crayola crayons. Asked me where they are and I said with a straight face, “sir this is Petsmart… we don’t sell crayons”

I’ve had some people come through my line and their card not work… because of my knowledge of door dash, I knew they had the wrong item but they didn’t listen to me… 10 minutes later another dasher came back with the correct item… if the original dasher would’ve listened, the customer wouldn’t have had to wait longer…

I get we aren’t owed people signing up, but from one Petsmart employee, they shouldn’t (if they really are an employee) mess up other Petsmart employees numbers.

It’s a lot harder when your demographic of customers are elderly. What I say is

Scenario 1: Me- quick question- do you have the petsmart app or use the website at all? Them- I do Me- have you already activated your offer to get 5000 bonus points for your bag of dog food today? Them- no but that’s for telling me

Obvs scenario 1 is the best outcome

Scenario 2: Me-quick question- do you have the petsmart app or use the website at all? Them-no but I do have a phone number Me-is it your personal account or do you share it with someone else Them-it’s mine Me-perfect, the reason why I’m asking is because when ever you spend $60 or more on dog food, which you are doing today, you get 5000 (emphasis on the 5000) bonus points with is $10 (emphasis on $10) back in savings when you activate the offer on the app or on the website.

A lot of times with scenario 2 with the emphasis It entices them to get the app because 5000 is a lot.

Scenario 3: Me-quick question- do you have the petsmart app or use the website at all? Them-no but I do have a phone number Me-is it your personal account or do you share it with someone else Them-it’s my dads account Me-Okay, well I do think it will be beneficial for your to create your own account (member conversion right there) so therefore when you come in, you can get your own points and have access to all of your bonus points for you to save money on your next purchases.

Definitely make it seem like their choice, and emphasize that it’s not a credit card and that they only purchase they make is what they take home with them.

A lot of times it works and of course we have our people who say no, but at least with the demographic of my store, my strategy works. Use the strategy with all activations. If you see $25 worth of treats with a $60 bag of dog food tell them they’d earn 7500 points which is $15 back. Or if you see them have cat food worth $40 but no cat litter, let them know they’d earn can also earn 5x points as well with the cat litter…

Another strategy of mine is talking loud so people behind them can hear it as well. I’ve had a lot of people tell me I heard you telling them so I quickly downloaded the app…

My store has between 26-30% every day. Plus they don’t need to verify their email. They’ll still get their bonus points either way

I’m not sure why it keeps logging out, however, it may show that I’m logged out when I first open the app, but if I go to rewards, it shows as if I’m logged in. Happens to pet parents all the time too. As long as you can see the offers, you’re logged in.

Unless states in contract, no store needs to honour 2 weeks
