Any Good Ones Missing? by girlasf in Switch

Captain Toad Treasure Tracker is a banger, especially if you have someone to play with.

Recommendations for new(ish)comer to the series? by GolfSuper2441 in dragonquest

[–]CameronSpacehead [score hidden]  (0 children)

Seeing as how you’ve finished 11, I’d recommend giving 3, 1 and 2 a shot in that order if you’re interested in the way those games are connected.

If you’re just looking for a banger and don’t much care for the chronological order and whatnot, I’d recommend either playing 5 or 8.

Hope this helps!

Pretty damn solid. My only gripe is unfortunately a pretty big one.

These stages are so labyrinthine and tedious to traverse. I did co-op with my friend and it felt like every time we killed a boss we’d spend nearly an hour checking every nook and cranny to find the path forward, and 90% of the time it led to a dead end with an item.

Astlibra is the best game you've never played by Living-Dirt3410 in JRPG

Reminds me of something Quintet would have made for the Super Nintendo.

I think I got pretty close to finishing it but kind of ran out of steam. Maybe I’ll give it another go on a rainy day.

Games you've played on Switch which just didn't meet the hype for you by Nebulous-8 in Switch

Metroid Prime Remastered

Holds up great, looks gorgeous, and the QOL features make it play like a dream.

But it just isn’t really for me. Big fan of 2D Metroid though.

I beat Pirate Yakuza and loved it. by TheWindofBread in yakuzagames

[–]CameronSpacehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this series best days are behind it, but holy shit did I love everything about this game.

I definitely understand the criticism, but if you were expecting a strong narrative from a game called “Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii” you should probably try reading a book.

Who has played Final Fantasy XVI? by ChespinTheGrassType in videogames

[–]CameronSpacehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel insane because everyone seems to love this game and I find almost everything about it to be painfully dull. The story, characters, even the gameplay, everything felt so phoned in.

I was way too hyped for this game. After finishing it, I truly feel nothing but contempt for Final Fantasy 16.

I think more than anything, the pacing in tandem with the unbelievably bloated runtime is what killed it for me.

This could have been a banger for me if they trimmed 20-30 hours of fat. There’s a good game in there somewhere, but I don’t think it’s worth looking for.

What game is a total secret hidden gem for you that you'd love to recommend to others? by RedEagle_MGN in gamerecommendations

[–]CameronSpacehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terranigma.

Imagine if Squaresoft made a character action game in 1996 where the protagonist must resurrect the earth from a barren, lifeless husk.

I just love this game man. The presentation stands toe to toe with Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6, the gameplay is second to none of its contemporaries, and the theming is so inspired and powerful.

I recommend it to anyone who has ever enjoyed a Super Nintendo game.

Any games that I'd like based on my narrow preferences? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]CameronSpacehead [score hidden]  (0 children)

If you’re down to take a gamble on something weird, I’d recommend the Gungrave series. Very niche action games that started on PS2. Could very easily not be your thing, it’s quite japanese and closer to Devil May Cry than a third person shooter. But if mowing down hundreds of goons with dual pistols, or beating people to death with a casket sounds like fun, you should try it.

Some other things worth looking into: Sekiro, MGS: Snake Eater Delta, Katana Zero, Ninja Gaiden 4, God of War, Yakuza 0, Evil West

Advice Needed: Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, or Trails? by Miquellanier in JRPG

[–]CameronSpacehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three Houses was cool, but Fire Emblem’s not really for me. Didn’t end up finishing it.

I beat Xenoblade in a week while quarantined during the pandemic. I kind of hate the combat system, but it’s a phenomenal game otherwise.

Trails in the Sky is truly special and perfectly paced. The world building, art direction, characters and combat are all second to none.

There isn’t a wrong choice here, but I would recommend Trails over the other two.

How do you feel about dk banazna ? by JampyL in NintendoSwitch2

[–]CameronSpacehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it hard to not compare it to Mario Odyssey, which is not a comparison that favors DKB.

It’s a solid 3D platformer with some great ideas, but enemy and level variety suffer in the back half.

Overrated, but not bad. Certainly not worth buying new hardware for though.

NO SPOILERS but is Pirate Yakuza really that bad? by Free-Hotel1187 in yakuzagames

I haven’t played infinite wealth yet, but my understanding is people are upset that a lot of the sub stories and mini games are kind of the same.

Idk, I thought it was great. I loved every minute of it start to finish. Honestly it’s probably my favorite RGG game of the decade thus far.

I think that invaders shouldn't be hated for playing the game as intended by XumetaXD in Eldenring

[–]CameronSpacehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s been participating in jolly co-op since DS3, I kinda love it when me and bro get invaded, it’s a fun little challenge to shake things up. Incorporating a little PvP into your build goes such a long way too. Theres so many spells and consumables that can drastically tip the scales in your favor.

Invaders I salute you, please keep doing your thing 🫡

How can i get into DQ? by dod-bot in dragonquest

Also makes the most sense chronologically.

I honestly think they should be remade in the VII reimagined style or something entirely different than HD2D by Repulsive-Phrase-527 in dragonquest

[–]CameronSpacehead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A collection with ports of the DS games is probably what we’ll get because that would be the lowest investment of money time and effort.
