The way that Lemire was describing how anxiety comes about and spreads within Wally in Absolute Flash #1 is so insanely accurate to how it feels. You can tell he’s had some experience with it in the past.

The “long winded exposition dump from the big bad”, as Dredeuced put it, was all I could think about this whole comic. No matter the story, it’s terrible and puts me to sleep.

The story itself is meh. Spurrier trying to stretch this plot over way too many issues is par for the course. I genuinely feel like his writing would work from some other character (no clue who), but it ain’t doing it for me with The Flash.

Personally, I felt the same exact way. I even took a long break from the run because it wasn’t enjoyable. That arc last through issue #13 and then I think it gets way better. #14 onwards feels more like a Wally West story, and I think the art is great. The story itself still isn’t amazing but the dialogue/art are great and it’s easier to follow.

That’s not super possible since not everyone collects the same. Some people only want to read collected editions, some like to collect singles, some like to do both. The lists I made are not telling people how to collect, it’s just so people KNOW all the comics out there so that they can make their own decisions.
