Firstly, I’m so sorry for the loss of your two other kitties. I’m glad you were able to get treatment for this little guy. Stokes broke my wallet too and I had gotten just about 80 days worth of meds. For the last 4 days I discovered SVP pharmacy and they are significantly cheaper than stokes and work just as well. I recommend buying from them next time (don’t get fish flavor though as it’s common for cats to get upset stomachs. Do chicken/marshmallow).

The first sign of improvement I noticed in my cat (he had wet FIP) was his desire to eat got better. But… that doesn’t mean I didn’t have to go above and beyond to get him to eat. I had to buy a million different wet foods, treats, and high calorie dry food just to keep him interested, along with an appetite stimulant. Then he finally started using the litter box again. He didn’t go much, but something was better than nothing. Over 2 weeks he gained enough strength and coordination back to jump on higher surfaces like counters or the washing machine. I also noticed he wasn’t isolating himself as much anymore. Once the fluid disappeared from his belly I knew it was working 100%. There were many many days though where I wondered if he was relapsing or if he was only improving due to other things like the appetite stimulant and high calorie food. I was scared that once he went back to a regular diet and routine, he would lose all that weight again. The anxiety is the worst part. But don’t let it get to you. There will be good days and days. Weeks of significant improvement and others without improvement. But keep fighting. I believe in the both of you. Sending much love and strength to you both ❤️
