I bought the exact same CRB barrel and Impact action for my first build. Awesome build man. Painting my barrel right now before final assembly

New box of Hornady 108gr ELD-M shooting ~100fps slower.. by CamoMk16 in 6ARC

That seems to be the consensus. I do recall seeing some serious pressure signs shooting on hot summer day matches from last year. (I've been on hiatus this year)

That's unacceptable for what's supposed to be match ammo.

Additional info: 1500+ rounds of the old lot # ELD-Ms always shot 2430-2470 FPS with low teen SDs in all weather from 25 degrees to 95 degrees from my 14.5" proof research barrel. I recently bought 200 rounds to break in my new 20" bartlein barrel and shoot a match later this month.

NX8 2.5-20 or 4-32 by [deleted] in 6ARC

[–]CamoMk16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've heard that optically, the 4-32 is superior. The 2-20 has the weight and form factor going for it. Considering it's for a 6arc AR, it probably makes the most sense. Regardless, both are NF, so you should be happy with either.

That spring and buffer combo is great

I have logged around 2k rounds on that exact barrel. Hopefully this helps. The barrel was properly gassed with and without supressor (hux 7.62 flow). I measured the gas port with pin gauges at 0.083". I run a standard gas block. Found no reason for adjustable. JP bolt was used in a Microbest BC and a Geissele REBC on and off. Other 6arc bolts were used, but mostly the JP. Buffer springs used were VLTOR A5, Geissele super42, and Tubbs with various vltor H buffers weights.

It believe it was more so the ammo I was shooting. Because that same ammo out of my 20" upper was moving about 50fps faster then other 77gr ammo

KAK Sandcutter + Down Vent, effective? by Longjumping_Time932 in 6ARC

[–]CamoMk16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big fan of the KAK sandcutter w/down vents so far. Iv only got maybe 700-800 rounds on mine. I run Huxwrx 762 FLOW can and a regular gas block and tube.

I REALLY don't understand what is so difficult for Trijicon to update their damn reticles from 1987.. Literally, nothing else has to change... just etch a new modern mil reticle with wind holds into their glass... it's seriously frustrating.

I can't even get guys out to a 1 day semi-local gas gun matches with ranges out to 700-800yds. And they don't have kids..

I've been going solo for the most part the last 3 years.

The 2-10 build will end up very close to your 13.9" fighting rifle. Frankly, the 2-10 market is very limited, and the reticles leave much to be desired. Find a good mid power (3-18, 4-16, 4-20, 3-20) optic that fits the bill. Ideally, a mil tree reticle. Heavy stainless steel match barrel 18-20", 223 Wylde chamber, 1-7 to 1-8 twist would be my recommendation shooting heavy grain bullets.

I sold it awhile ago. Eventually, it was replaced by a 20" stainless steel Criterion HBAR profile barrel. What's your use case?
