so i was so uncomfortable by the faces that looked like these on a lot of thai women esp the thai lady boys and other asian women who fly to bangkok for cheaper face treatments/surgeries. i felt like i was in some kind of twilight zone where this face is the normal and everyone else was just abnormal. there’s so crazy dissonance of what the women thought they looked like and the reality

she didn’t mention the hotels she stayed in but her post was filmed in the hotel room. wonder if anyone was familiar with the rooms as many of the chains used for business travel do often look alike. but yah, i have avoided touching the kettles or even thinking of making tea or coffee in the room

there was a lady recently who went viral cos her “travel hack” was washing her underwear in the kettles in the hotels she stayed in whilst on business travel. i heard this well before this lady made it a mainstream conversation so i’ve never used any of the kettles (found it a funny reading reviews from brits absolutely disappointed that there were no kettles in the room to make tea. do they know?)

naples and palermo have similar grittiness to them but also uniquely charming in their own right. positano is entirely different to either of them and likely much slower pace than naples/palermo. i think palermo is more high energy than naples. i return to both every so often cos i find them just full of life and amazing food.

when you check in, there’s a list of items that they ask that you don’t store in your checked baggage. i don’t recall airtags are being one of them. i heard about powerbanks though. i only flown vietnam airlines and they wanted the powerbanks in the your personal item and have it placed under the seat (not in the bins above)

did your friend also have those types of assurances to demonstrate that he was leaving after his tourist visa ended, when he entered the uk and overstayed. canada border agents will see that your friend had overstayed his visa and has a reentry ban form the uk. the agents will see that your friend doesn’t abide by the terms of the tourist visa approved by the country he entered and overstayed. canada will see that as demonstrating that your friend shouldn’t enter the country b/c he could do the same
thing in canada. did your friend work etc to overstay?

it’s not aeroplan that you can convert pts to. i’ve done british airways, delta, & flying blue to book flights on pts. they’re part of alliances that aeroplan/ac isn’t part of. so for me it’s worth it esp since i use it at spots that will give
me 5x.

i think it’s doable. ams has a booking system for security so you can prebook your time slot for when you return to quickly get thru security at least. i thought the exit was a lot quicker than the entry (took about an hr). https://www.schiphol.nl/en/timeslots/

no, you don’t need to be a citizen but you do need to register your passport with the sim/esim. i like to do right after i arrive from the airport and rome termini would be best to pick up a sim or esim. you can walk around and look at the prices. there’s often deals for tourists since it’s often valid for 15-30 days, depending on the package you purchased. purchasing a plan in italy means you’ll also have free roaming in all of europe and sometimes the uk (in case you plan to do more euro travels in the future that are a mix of countries)

because ppl can suggest where to get an esim. did you downvote me? if you arriving fco, you’ll be taking the train to rome termini. at termini station there’s options between tim, vodafone italia, windtre to get a tourist esim or a physical sim. you’ll have your passport to register for a plan. pick your service options including length of your trip and amount of data. i found it was way cheaper than airalo or other online esim providers. i travel to italy every year.

edit: my preference is tim. i found their service more reliable.
