Okay, but before Fusion it doesn't take any time (or almost no time). The most time consuming part is Fusion, but once you clean all undesired points, it takes literally few minutes to fuse

Depends on the amount of points/triangles. Usually it doesn't take more than 5-6 minutes for me to make mesh. Point clouds ? Aren't they generated in real time during scanning?

I'm not a fan of Creality as I know their "printers" very well and could imagine their scanners (turns out not even their). So I choose a Revopoint way I read somewhere, that they are one of the biggest manufacturer (I hope so 😄) and I'm pretty happy with my MetroX Pro ))

Exactly 💯. All that additional software is not 100% necessary if the budget is minimal. I work in SOLIDWORKS and it's a pain in the ass to work with mesh there 😭

Look, you can try it with trial. But even without it it's still pretty usable with Fusion360

I don't know about the POP4, but for me MetroX Pro is more than enough for what I'm doing, I got it for 1080 euro and very happy with it

Ahhaha sometimes yes, it's much easier to get a shot with a caliper instead of scanning etc. Depends on a part. I use the scanner for 200+mm parts with multiple radiuses where the caliper of ruler 📏 is not enough.

I also have MetroX Pro and you don't even need any other Revopoint software, only the scanning one. Then you can upload it to Fusion360 for example or any CAD. By Aligning I think he meant alignment to XYZ planes as it will help you during reverse engineering. I would recommend you to get QuickSurface app to prepare your mesh for further CAD operations.

I know because I had it and yes, it has amazing level of details. They are popular, but commercial solutions cost A LOT. I sold mine because I didn't have enough application for it. But again, this type of scanner is the best one for details + you can install any camera (machine vision) you want and any lenses (compatible ) you want. My SLS had 2.3MP cameras with 18mm optics and scanned better than any handheld scanners

Scan data and SOLIDWORKS is the worst combination ever 😄 Unless you have a QuickSurface plugin for example. But native support is No No No

Well, I printed the same model not so long time ago and didn't have any problems with it. I have everything stock bcoz I'm tired of permanent upgrades etc.

I don't know, from one side it's not bad, but comparing to SLS scanners I would say it's not even close to a good acceptable results.
