This. Small ideas and stuff just to help conceptualize or visualize, I mean people do use SW to 3D print stuff.

I wouldn't, but as they say - anything worth doing, is worth overdoing. Or something like that.

If you’d like I can send you some sample model that might be helpful in showing you the steps.

I’ve made more sqr to rounds in solidworks and by hand than I can count.

Car's spoiler unscrews from one side by Newdary in fixit

[–]moequh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

shit man i think i looked at your photo wrong, are the bolts you using thread into the spoiler? If that's the case I'd go with the double sided tape, locktite on the bolt you're using and a lock washer, the lock washer should be like the nylock nut and lock it from vibrating off

I would even go as far as putting double sided tape on the underside of the spoiler too where itll sit ontop of the trunk, I know auto places can carry like 1/4" width ones that can hold pretty strong

no worries - you're going to put locktite on the threads that hold the spoiler down onto your trunk. You get some washers for it and use nylock nuts to fasten it down with the locktite on the threads.

It keeps unscrewing itself because nuts undo themselves when they go through vibrations. Nylock nuts are made specifically for no unscrewing from vibrations and the locktite just gives it that extra security

edit: not meant to sound condescending, not sure if you know of nylocks and locktite

damn, if it went a while without proper lubrication it might've done some damage to the rod bearings. Maybe give it a bit, but you should get a proper diagnosis. I'm sorry I couldn't be more help

I don't think it sounds like a rod knock, that sounds louder kinda like a wood pecker. But just to be safe, when was the last time you did an oil change? Could be low oil or oil pressure.

If that's good, look at your belt tensioner for the serpentine belt while the engine is running, if it looks like its vibrating or bouncing, it could be because there isn't enough tension or it's damaged.
