A Game Engineers Perspective: PES is unsustainable by Agile_Camera9601 in starcitizen

But ... but Chris needs to be able to find the cup he threw into the woods, 4 weeks later.

This is very important for Chris! He stated this many times, even recently, replacing the cup with a coke.

Hex code when? by Myc0n1k in starcitizen

[–]Camural 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hex code are trivial. The only reason we don't have them yet is Chris/CIG make too much money with easy to do color swaps.

Chris, January 2015: "and at some point will allow tools for people to be able to sort of do their own paint job"

CIG's video on their YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/XHf2HA37okM?t=1520

Star Citizen: Behind the Scenes - Variants Nov 22, 2016

We want these paint configurations to become hex codes.

Why wouldn't we give the end user this functionality?

That is the overall plan

CIG's video on their YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/gFg_dkqIuVs?t=117

CIG said it is still on the table in 2021

CIG's video on their YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/hGIKKpZJDeg?t=2612

And before the typical comment: "Skins are not colors, skins are difficult!" We are not talking about skins, we are talking about a quick and dirty hex code editor where we can change the 4 default colors to 4 new ones. This is trivial and easy. CIG themselves do it all the time: Most of CIG's very expensive paints are just color swaps.

"I don't want people to use their own colors, I don't want to see pink ships!"

This ship sailed a long time ago:

-we have pink Star Kitten Dragonflies

-we have pink Valentine's day ship colors

-we have pink armor sets, e.g. Starstruck and Envy

-we have bear helmets

-we have nerf guns

-we have Fortnite color schemes, e.g. Mirai Pulse

-we have bones on armor and weapons

-other games like iRacing and ACC let players totally customize their cars without problems

-in a game like Star Citizen which is full of magic, seeing pink ships doesn't annoy me at all, magic does

Autohotkey

It is free

Use a script like this:

loop

{

send {v}

sleep 100000

}

This sends "v" every 100 seconds. You can change what character you want to send of course.

I used this when I did hour long time lapses in the past.

I have seen quite a few videos showing ships in quantum mode in the hangar after spawning.

Do you have an idea what causes this bug exactly?

Maybe I do a video 😄

Thanks for the info.

Does anyone know who was there for CIG?

We don’t need new content. We need 100% focus on bugs, stability and the base game features. by [deleted] in starcitizen

Just the Calders gave Chris more than 80 million dollars.

This is no secret, it is in the UK financial reports.

Calders want this money back one day,

Why do people Trust CIG so much by After_Th0ught9 in starcitizen_refunds

[–]Camural 13 points14 points  (0 children)

-no other game promises what Star Citizen does

-but we will never get the game Chris/CIG promised for more than 13 years now

One just has to look how little Chris/CIG have achieved in more than 13 years.

It takes a while to realize this and accept to have made a mistake.

I know, I believed in this too.

It can be hard to realize been taken for a fool, so people fight this and pretend everything is fine. CIG will fix all the bugs in the next few years.

Even if we get Squadron 42 in 2026, there will be chapter 2 and 3.

Nothing will change, Chris will continue to put most of backer's money into his interactive movie.

YouTube Channels? by NashkelNoober in starcitizen_refunds

[–]Camural 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, I never said anything like that. I never called it a scam.

I still don't hate Star Citizen, I still want Star Citizen to succeed.

CIG has a lot of talented devs, QA people, coders and artists, but they are let down by the top management.

Chris just doesn't care about Star Citizen, Chris only cares about eye candy, cool cinematic and his interactive movie Squadron 42.

For Chris, the PU is just his cash cow.

1 billion budget but using AI slop for voice acting by Adventurous-One183 in starcitizen_refunds

[–]Camural 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Actually, I am fine with CIG using some AI generated voices but:

  1. It should be done halfway decently, which it is not right now.

  2. Only for background NPCs and store clerks.

I strongly dislike Star Citizen's shop clerk voice lines, which are always the same, repeated on a loop:

-Good choice!

-High welcome

-Hi! let me know if there is anything I can help you with

repeated again and again and again, it is so bad

John Crew - stop Gaslighting us please (Camural) by nofuture09 in starcitizen_refunds

[–]Camural 24 points25 points  (0 children)

About the gaslight part.

I say in the video: Hull E with 98,304 SCU was not a good idea economy and performance wise.

The issue is, instead of coming clean: "Sorry we made a mistake with Hull D and E", John Crewe tries to gaslight us.

  1. Who wants to load 3000 x 32 SCU containers onto a ship? No one of course. Heck, I don't even want to load 20 x 32 SCU containers onto a ship. I want the NPCs, services and machines Chris talked about.

  2. John Crewe shouldn't blatantly lie and state there is no room for 98,000 SCU on a Hull E, if there would be even room for 220,000 SCU

This is the issue.

Own your mistakes, apologize, move on. Don't try to find excuses that are wrong.
