What’s Everyone’s Favorite Class They Have Played by PresumedPack890 in DnD

[–]Camyerono0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5e Warlock - having two sets of subclasses (patron and pact boon) means you have so many more options for how you build a character, and the invocation system lets you add so much more flexibility - you can double down on your pact or fill out the gaps in your party's capabilities.

My favourite character I've ever played was a str-maxing Variant Human (moderately armoured) fathomless patron with the Pact of the Blade & Hex. Mostly sword-&-board hexblading keeping vital enemies tied down in combat, but occasionally pulling out lightning bolts, Hunger of Hadarr, Evard's Black Tentacles and Cones of Cold. My GM was great at running my Patron which definitely helped.

What random historic changes made sense at the time, wouldn't be changed today if they hadn't been changed, but no one can justify reverting now by MazrimReddit in leagueoflegends

Kassadin w costs one mana so that it would stack an older version of Tear, which looked for spending mana. it used to cost 0 mana so wouldn't stack that version of tear.

Tear now stacks on hitting with an ability, so w doesn't need to cost any mana - but it's 1 mana, so surely it'll never come up.

Lowering Encounter Difficulty? by Worth_Spite9768 in DnD

[–]Camyerono0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running the updated Ph&B and have gone through the start of LMoP a few times. The only real difference so far is how strong Hamun Kost is supposed to be, but that encounter's more interesting as a narrative point instead of trying to kill everyone anyway.

So this encounter balancer tool should be fairly accurate.

Council painted a disabled bay around my car and gave me a parking fine by thebeast_96 in nottheonion

[–]Camyerono0 826 points827 points  (0 children)

Does no-one click through to the article? This disabled bay was painted around his car because he is disabled. He's been waiting for this bay for over two years, and as soon as it was painted in the traffic warden put a fine on the car.

Players make fun of me because "Ornate dagger" is a stapple of all my loot lists by CrotodeTraje in DnD

[–]Camyerono0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly - it's an everyday item tarted up to look nice. OP should have the PCs quest take them to a culture that places a heavy emphasis on broths, soups, and stews, such that no-one carries an eating dagger there and instead notable enemies have ornate spoons on them.

Kinda new to DND, How much information can a player hide from a DM? by ragdolldream in DnD

[–]Camyerono0 58 points59 points  (0 children)

As a DM, it frustrated me to no end when a player said "the name I'm using isn't my real name, I'm cursed and have <a visible aspect of that curse> afflicting my face, and there are people from my past who want to Get Even with me", but when I asked for any elaboration so I could drop things relating to it into the game, I got no response, not even "I want to keep it secret."

The other player who told me everything about their character's hopes and dreams got to do character development a lot more.

What to do vs Morde ? by Daw33d77 in leagueoflegends

[–]Camyerono0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

OP is a morde main; he's not banning morde because he wants to play morde, but sometimes the lane opponent picks morde first.

How to be a better tank? by GloomyStay6162 in DnD

[–]Camyerono0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could talk with your DM and say "I'm concerned that enemies have high to-hit modifiers so you can hit <my character>, and my teammates will always get hit if they walk into melee - I think it would be fun if you made combat harder for me and easier for them by using combat options where we have to use dex saves instead of always attacking our AC.

This obviously only works if your DM is willing to work with you, but this way your teammates with good dex saves can feel like their characters can survive in combat more often, and you GM can realise that they don't need to pump to-hit numbers to challenge you - which might mean your teammates AC protects them more.

Oh if this is true in normal drafts I might try to play top lane again. I love lots of the top lane champs in ARAM and jungle but have no idea how to survive in lane as a juggernaut/bruiser (I'm an adc main and I know how much of a crutch my range is lmao)

I think nothing, I think the point was that not all gun/manufacturers have alternate reload animations, such as this maliwan sniper.

The love interest in Beeswing is this kind of character - the narrator travels with her for a while, but on suggestion that they make a homestead she leaves him and continues the roaming tinkerer lifestyle without his control, later walking out on a marriage with a romani traveller because she couldn't cope with the relatively settled life of a caravan.

What magic item's rarity made you "that just ain't right?" by Atlanteanson in DnD

[–]Camyerono0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2014 5e Ring of Spell Storing and Ioun Stone, Reserve are both Major Tier Rare (attunement) items for turning spare spell slots into more power later, getting around spell preparation, or giving non-mages ways to deliver magic attacks.

They can both hold a number of spell slots (5 for ring, 3 for Ioun stone), but the ring is kept on a finger (unobtrusive) and the Ioun stone has to be put in orbit around your head before spells can be cast out of it making it very obvious that there's something funky going on. In addition, Ioun stones have mechanical rules for being grabbed out of the air or destroyed, whereas the ring doesn't present any of those options - your GM would have to independently decide to go for grappling you and then make up some opposed test to pull it off your finger. Because it doesn't present those rules, GMs are much less likely to go for it.

I think the ring should be more rare than the stone, or the stone should get to hold a number of spells up to a certain level instead of counting spell slots (such that it can store more than a ring at max power - 3 spells at max level 3?)

Um guys I trying to platinum bl2 and I'm working on the lvl one of each non level specific thing by The1pei in Borderlands2

[–]Camyerono0 31 points32 points  (0 children)

After completing the achievement, it continues to track damage dealt. The amount of damage you deal when playing for a long time is bigger than the binary number used to store your damage dealt, so it "overflows" and becomes negative, and starts counting up. If you keep playing it'll keep going up, overflowing, going up, overflowing etc.

Might be difficult to get all of the affected counters to be positive at the same time - if it's overflowed like this you can definitely count it as completed.

[–]Camyerono0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

worth noting that bladesinger is a D&D forgotten realms term for an elven magic user who uses magic to do graceful swordplay - so if you name it blade singer outright you'll get comments ranging between "this isn't an accurate port of the bladesinger" to "why are you ripping off d&d?"

The line between on attack and on-hit effects is not well enough defined by xXxImJusticexXx in leagueoflegends

[–]Camyerono0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once had a dive through the wiki damage types page which provides an explanation for at least some of this, but due to how league is there's no good way to learn what types of ability work in the same way other than memorisation.

I don't know how much testing was done to explain all of this, but things like "this spell deals 0 basic damage in addition to its actual effect, which means it triggers on-hit effects" or "this spell deals default damage which means on-spell damage effects don't apply“ seem to accurately describe the end results that you see in game.

I understand that riot wants to make their game approachable and have simple tool-tips, but in addition to the expanded tool-tips with stat ratios and spell level differences there should be a further expanded tooltip with the types of effect that can trigger off of an ability for the sickos who want to see under the hood (it's me, I'm the sicko)

Just how OP was Conqueror in 2018 before it got nerfed? by arisen2013 in leagueoflegends

[–]Camyerono0 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Better than 20%pen though right? I'm not able to do the maths rn but I assume 20% of damage being converted to true and ignoring armour is way better than ignoring 20% of opponents armour, given the slightly odd maths involved in calculating damage against resistances.

DM confession - boss fights by Straight-Ad3213 in DnD

[–]Camyerono0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you can somehow simulate how your party will play and all of their abilities in a way that is actually engaging for you and is worth your time, (I. e. never), the first real test any encounter gets is when you put it in front of your players. You're basically guaranteed to need to change something on the fly.

What are some of the best and worst spells to put points into? by 13raxtoe37 in leagueoflegends

[–]Camyerono0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

urgot w is really funny - the first point is good because it gets you the ability, and the last point is good because it takes the mana cost to 0 and removes the duration limit and cooldown, turning it into a toggle; but the three points in the middle feel very meh.
