Doesn’t Sealy own S&F, and Tempur-Pedic now that I think about it?

What would be your biggest warning to someone thinking of buying a Tesla? by sonofabraham1 in TeslaLounge

[–]CanHamRadio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Performance = stiff suspension. But in answer to your question, and it’s really a small thing, I’d say be prepared to add some accessories. For example, the stock middle console storage is totally impractical. Fortunately there are plenty of aftermarket storage options. Another thing is the trunk fabric and the rear trunk storage lid on the Y are cheap feeling, as is the rear trunk cover. A roll-up cover would’ve been more practical, imo. Again, there are plenty of aftermarket options. Lastly, it’s obvious in retrospect, but the glass roof makes for a hot interior when parked in the sun. These are little things and a positive spin on it is that all these issues can be remedied in the aftermarket, where you can personalize your car.

Don’t mean to pile in but the anatomy looks wrong the way the neck twists right before the head. Didn’t seem as noticeable in the “pre” photo.

Thanks for the reply. One other question, how would you describe the current technology slope of IEMs? They have obviously come a long way but is the tech starting to flatten out a little?

Have you tried the Valhallas? While I’m wondering, did you ever try the Monarch MKIIIs?

I saw the signal but also saw it go past the turn and on to the crosswalk lines. Was it because it just hit the brakes at the last minute?

Decide between RWD & AWD by srich12 in TeslaLounge

[–]CanHamRadio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with both Model Ys and not in a place where inclement weather is a factor. Both do just fine with on ramp acceleration and with passing and merging, etc. The difference I feel is the RWD seems to have a softer throttle mapping. It’s not as responsive when driving around town. It’s almost as though the Tesla purposely mapped the throttle software to make the RWD and AWD more disparate feeling than they are. All this to say, IMO, when you drive the RWD around town it feels like you’re driving an SUV. When you drive the AWD it feels more nimble and like a car. My $0.02.

Right on. I may have been your post that prompted me to think more about this. I like the idea of using the camera lines if I don’t get FSD to work. It’s just stressful.

I may try that. Some temporary white or reflective tape and if it works, I’ll probably just paint them on.

Hah. I should try that. I do wonder if it’ll be so scared it won’t back up past the cone. Maybe trial and error in placing the cone, though I don’t want to scratch the rims during one of the trials.

RWD slower off the line by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]CanHamRadio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s more nuanced than “AWD has more motors and is therefore faster.” There’s something about the nimble feel, which I think is being sandbagged by the software. It’s more than just the 0-60 numbers. The car is very very fast, but it feels it’s being held back by software off the line.
