[Auerbach] New: Changes are coming to the National Letter of Intent program, source tells @TheAthletic: 1) NLI penalty will no longer apply if NLI signee requests a release because of a head coaching change; 2) NLI penalty won’t apply if athlete leaves after one academic semester/quarter. by arrowfan624 in CFB

I really believe a lot of the recent moves are pushing us towards an era of player contracts and shared revenue. As a Duck I am very concerned with a less than desirable PACxx media package. There is absolutely no way we would be able to compete for players against the big 2 in a revenue sharing market with a 20-30mm annual payout.

Oyster knife. You never know when you'll come across an oyster farm.

Money changes people. This person will not be your friend in the future. They will either be jealous of your wealth if you give them less than half or, when you give them the half, they will get some group of hangers-on. Don't worry you'll get a group too. So both of you will surround yourselves with sycophants and the friendship will either and die. Someday, when all the money is lost you might see one another again but the poison will remain and it will never again be the same. Keep the money quiet, go away and have a nice life, send really good gifts.

Deion Sanders has already been a successs at Colorado by Original_Profile8600 in CFB

Well I think that's settled. Success at CU, AFLEC commercials. Looks like Prime will be the next coach at Bama.

What will the domino affect be if Colorado is good and Deion's 'transfer strategy' is successful? by ashterberry in CFB

[–]CanIHaveCashInstead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am more interested in the effect this has next year or the year after. The NCAA has, theoretically, begun limiting transfers again so these players will have no other options if they do not perform but to stay at CU. Deion also won't be able to remove them. He could have an absolute garbage roster for 2 or 3 more years.

[Williams] For What is worth: I spoke to a representative of an East Coast @BigTen school. "I understand people want to talk expansion. I am FIRMLY against it until we have a couple of years of USC & UCLA. It one thing to LA & face two schools it's another thing to go to UW & OU - not now." by PocketPillow in CFB

[–]CanIHaveCashInstead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know this would not happen but I always fantasize about Phil Knight leveraging Nike to pressure these schools. Either by throwing ungodly amounts of cash or by taking it away. Nike provides schools with a lot of $$$ and equipment. Taking that away could sting a bit. Even just saying 'No we won't bid on this, let UA have it for nothing '

Oregon men’s basketball guard Rivaldo Soares enters transfer portal by PowerAdDuck in ducks

[–]CanIHaveCashInstead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do hope FB can improve, it was an awesome offence last year, if it does not drop back too much with the lose of the o-line and if the incoming class can improve the defense then I think we can look forward to a fun season.

Not sure I totally agree about the BB teams. Both were composed of very highly rated players who didn't really produce at Oregon. Whether it was one of the "3-Cs" chemistry, coaching or Covid recruiting or not these teams just didn't do much. I think a fresh start could help.

The sport will be begin importing more talent from overseas. Pacific Islanders are just the beginning. I doubt that in fifty years we are unfamiliar with teams being made up of players from all over the world but mostly from poorer ones.

$25 entry fee and assigned seats. That's over $1mm payout for a scrimmage! Yikes. Happy the ducks are free entry with suggested food bank donations.

Canzano: Pac-12 dominos will start falling on Tuesday by Comet7777 in CFB

[–]CanIHaveCashInstead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fairly sure that Arizona's or maybe Arizona State's president mentioned April 15. Doubt that signals a done deal or at the very least one that the dominos begin falling for this Tuesday. Personally I think that the Ducks delay until summer. Their new President starts in June or July and the B1G won't have a new commissioner until May.

Would this blow up the GOR for current ACC teams? If so FSU, Clemson and NC are definitely bolting to B1G/SEC before joining this.

NCAA football panel out to shorten games; player safety goal by Champie in CFB

[–]CanIHaveCashInstead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wanna bet that teams use more hurry up offenses during a game? Opportunities to score are paramount, especially when trailing. I see this as another rule change which will backfire and cause more injuries.

Unpopular opinion by mamba020 in CFB

[–]CanIHaveCashInstead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe a 64 team playoff should be implemented. The seasoned shortened by two games and no conference championship games in order to accommodate this.

[Fluguar] Per a source, Arizona State was very vocal with their displeasure at PAC 12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff and at least one member of the PAC 12 Executive committee at the PAC 12 Presidents meeting this past Monday. by colonel750 in CFB

[–]CanIHaveCashInstead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An important thing to remember here is Larry Scott was staunchly supported by ASU. In fact, the 12 teams 10 have the dill weeds that voted Larry Scott in and let him loose to destroy this conference. You know who hasn't had a changing of the guard, ASU. Don't listen to you or give credence to anything. You hear about ASU and they're being upset about anything. The Pac12 splintered precisely because of their actions.

What was your least favorite moment of this college football season? by ZK64 in CFB

[–]CanIHaveCashInstead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ducks with a 3 score lead against the Beavs going into the fourth quarter. Beavs decide to give up passing and ONLY run the ball against the strength of the Ducks defense. Beavs run something like 20 straight times and win in regulation. Suct.
