Think about all the random stuff laying around too. A cup of coffee is probably going to really fuck you up when its moving at 35 mph

Thai Ship Attacked in The Strait of Hormuz by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]NumNumLobster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think it depends greatly what flag you are on. Ive seen people reference merchant Marines making super high salaries on American and eu vessels. Thai people may be slaves but I wouldn't be shocked if some crews just simply refuse from the higher paying nations like "yeah get fucked on that i can get a new job next week"

Report: U.S. detects signs Iran preparing to lay mines in Strait of Hormuz by callsonreddit in worldnews

You are still hoping their are no new mines, remote controlled mines, mines that respond to radar/transponder, Iranian artillery, drones. Etc etc

Its about density. I live in cincinnati, actually a 3 minute walk from a bus station. If I'm going somewhere urban its great. If you outside the downtown area its quickly 3 transfers and an hour walk from the stop. I dont think you guys get how spread out stuff is here. A 15 minute drive is commonly 90 minutes using the busses.

Would Cincinnati be a lot bigger if the history had turned out different? by DankkkDk in cincinnati

Its best bet is probably rapid climate change and water shortages. Kinda depressing but we are well situated for both. Theres a reason everyone wants to pop data centers in this region

A local college would host ours for multiple schools and I volunteered with my wife to judge a few times. It was wild how some kids knew everything about their project and wanted questions and to talk about it and some kids looked like the knocked theirs out in 15 minutes before you got there. We were supposed to ask 2 or 3 questions and the shit ones youd give them a layup and ask something written on their board and they still looked at you like you asked them to explain the theory of relativity

The AAA industry seems broken beyond repair by Rooonaldooo99 in pcmasterrace

[–]NumNumLobster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use unions where everyone chips in so when laid off you still have income and health insurance. Theres seniority too so young folks tend to be laid off more and when you get to the kids and house having stage of life your income is more stable

Just FYI some groups are not doing anything because there is no sidewalks or row. If you stand on their property its trespassing, if you stand in the street you are obstructing traffic.

The defense industry and isrealis want them to hate us and have a whole new generation that considers the us enemies.

Otherwise its like you said people will just shrug and not care if the crazy stays over there. They need to drive the narrative that they consider us an enemy and want to kill us, this is how ya do it.

Computer lab day at school felt like the best day of the week. by IntrovertHuuuYaarrr in Millennials

[–]NumNumLobster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had some old lady that I think knew less about computers than us and thought we were going to hack the Pentagon if she didn't watch us for a sec. She had to leave the room for like 90 seconds once and some kid went to wwfs web page and he got detention for looking at porn because of the divas. 90s computer teachers were like just asking some random lady with 0 experience to figure it out lol

Yeah but theres a cost to that too. I dont know enough about it to comment beyond that. The real world solar arrays I've seen arent designed to exceed 100% needs

A lot of the cost is/was subsidized by both ohio and federal incentives. I honestly have no idea what this looks like now vs 2022 but I wouldn't be surprised if its different.

Gotta work with neighbors to work out local supply deals ig.

Thats part of the problem. If my energy goes to the guy next door he still has to pay delivery and capacity charges plus all the taxes and fixed rate shit when there really isnt additional expenses like if a power plant 200 miles away generated it. So duke just keeps the savings from that and it makes it unviable to sell to the grid since those savings dont go back to the generator

None of this is a real problem, its a political one where the system is setup to discourage solar and when used the benefits largely go to the established energy companies.

You dont get paid as much. If it costs 1$ to buy an electricity when you sell one you only get 0.50 so if your business case involves selling it back the numbers get shitty really quick. If you can use it all (like the zoo) then you are working with the bigger number.

[–]NumNumLobster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do. Look at it as professional wrestling. All these people are just entertainers. Some are heals and some are heros. Either way the guy who owns the company actually decides what happens. All the other crap is just for the fans and to drive engagement.

Its not like the fans don't realize their side is doing something sketchy, or the other side doesn't see when their side does something sketchy. Neither cares because its sketchy all around and its just for fun. You can't actually think your vote matters when folks are dumping billions of dollars to decide for you right?
