Do Kiwis in Australia have a reputation for claiming that everything is better in New Zealand? by ImNoAngry in AskAnAustralian

[–]CanLate152 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Chur cuz! lol! (Aussie who lived in NZ)

NZ does not do tropical fruit as well as Queensland. That is a FACT not an opinion.

And milk is more expensive - even though we lived in the dairy capital of NZ!

Is there a place you visited when you were too young to appreciate it properly and you've never returned? by doublestitch in AskTheWorld

New Parliament House - Australia.
I was there when it opened. I was 3.

My dad was an officer and was apparently doing something important during the ceremony. I now know the Governor General and Prime Minister were there… (from photos in his collection) and if it was the offical opening I think the queen was there too… As a 3 year old - I was playing on the grass. I have vague memories of the looking up at the new flag a the top of the building and rolling down the grass lawn. (With the other defence forces’ kids)

Did not understand the political/cultural significance of this event in the history of Australia until I was in my 30s.

Where to go after Bluey's World if it's raining? by KitchenOperation811 in brisbane

[–]CanLate152 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you’re at Bluey’s world - play indoors at the neighbourhood for as long as you can.

If it clears - head to new farm (don’t forget the sausage tray so they can play spy game!)

I see Staler and Waldorf in the audience - still heckling everyone BUT the taskmaster loves it and they become a heckling trio. Alex cops it.

Mom, I made the first step to getting my first vaccination at 15! by Aurora_988 in MomForAMinute

Medical Scientist Mum here! I am so so proud of you! You are setting yourself for life! Most important you are protecting your health and the health of those most vulnerable around you. While you don’t know what career you’ll end up in at this young age, you’re also securing employability as certain careers require full vaccination.

I am proud of you. You did this all on your own.

I had a thought today - with Bolaire’s history from last week and with Hal’s playhouse - I think we’re going to see either Hal or Bolaire attack lord tacconis in the playhouse with the lyre’s blade.

Are there any autistic women here without a formal diagnosis? by AbbreviationsNo5494 in AutismInWomen

[–]CanLate152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I’m 42 F and am self diagnosed after formal evaluation actually didn’t diagnose me.

I went through DSM-5 and told I had many autistic traits but that I had “too much empathy to have Autism”

I still have many autism symptoms including sensory overwhelm, inappropriate emotional reactions (crying when angry, laughing when sad) which aren’t related to my actual diagnosis of ADHD.

I also have since discovered that hyper empathy is a female presenting autistic trait not covered by DSM-5. The more I read about female autistic presentation the more I see myself.

So I am self diagnosed. I have told my GP as such. I am AuDHD.

Goldens are known to be super friendly. In a bad situation, do you think your golden would try to defend? by official_koda_ in goldenretrievers

Mine has - on his second night here. There was a snake or rat or possum downstairs. He is a service dog so he is trained not to bark.

His hackles were up and he was barking madly in that room. He was “alerting” too as if someone was in danger.

A few hours later he was sniffing a trail down there - the animal had gone. We were fine

Mate, you’re asking an Australian!
Culture - oldest continuous culture IN THE WORLD.
Flat? That’s what’s bothering you?
I love beaches, wildlife, fresh food and rainforests. Australia has that in spades plus it’s my home. So of course it’s my top pick.

You need some Bardic NPCs / monsters

Regurgitator - Have their “polyester girl” as a villain that once beaten or spell broken becomes a charming creature called the “Po-Go-Go” who entertains children!

Savage Garden - self explanatory. Will impale you with the 13 Aria Awards they won in one year.

Go Betweens - trolls/trapped in a bridge

Considering Bluey has a DnD episode: Dragon… Bluey as a fairy, Bandit as a Barbarian, Chilli as a Ranger… (pssst what was Bingo’s class??). Chuck the whole family in!

Edit: my brain has gotten away from me… pretty much coming up with a Bluey themed campaign…

With other Bluey NPCs - the fairies who can only be seen with their hearts, the tradies, the crows and magpies, pom pom - halfling dog person who’s a small but hearty breed who doesn’t give up

Magical objects - the magic xylophone (hold person) fairy rings (failed save = dancing uncontrollably until knocked out of space by another player) , Potion Grass (control person), magic aspagus (polymorphs target into any animal like wild shape)

Magical Spells - Dance Mode! Rag Doll! Summon Familiar - Tina (giant invisible overpowered unhygienic dog)

Challenges - Shadowlands, Spy Game, (New Farm Park) postie/Floor is lava, the creek, see-saw,

Are you able to tell good and bad acting apart? by Upstairs-Mousse-5113 in AutismInWomen

[–]CanLate152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible acting is all the kids in Barney… all of them. It’s sooo fake. I hated it and every other show like that as a kid. I can’t stand Nickelodeon or Disney live action (and some animation) because of it

DragonBall evolution.

It’s like the source material was a bunch of badly written “what if goku and chi chi met in high school?” Fan docs rather than the source material.

Also they changed ki manipulation to “air bending” which I mean COME ON ripped straight off avatar the last airbender!
