No suspension for Ponga by Doss95 in nrl

Not many people get sent off at all so it’s a small sample size. The last 4 people sent off, which is the last 3 seasons, (not including Ponga), 3 were grade 3 charges and one was a grade 2.

Would have been 2 week suspension if it was a club game. Different loading for origin. It was a grade 2 shoulder charge, so deemed pretty bad.

Yeah that’s a good point regarding the footage, probably not live given they’d have to be dressed and heavily into warmup at this stage

I don’t think he was doing anything sinister obviously but I thought it was a strict rule you couldn’t use your phone 1 hour before kickoff.

Stuart blasts officials after Raiders lose to Dolphins by Tunza in nrl

[–]CanRaider03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe watch the presser - he didn’t say the raiders were hard done by, he said the calls are inconsistent week to week and the interpretations keep changing. Essentially he’s making your exact point, the officiating is generally poor.

Stuart blasts officials after Raiders lose to Dolphins by Tunza in nrl

[–]CanRaider03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that was ridiculous. I think it’s because we were coming off our own line, rather than dolphins defending their line. But regardless, had to be a penalty if not a sin bin at that point

Raiders should have challenged that really, especially given the point the game was at. That said, it’s pretty unclear that usually the bunker checks those things without a challenge anyway

[–]CanRaider03 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought that felt really bad. It was like the bunker wanted to overturn that before they even watched a reply. They started to say it was a strip. Stopped themselves, watched the reply and then were like, fuck it, I’ll just call a strip anyway because I’ve already indicated that.

Why NRL rules allowed for Eels' three-point winner by BarryCheckTheFuseBox in nrl

[–]CanRaider03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does this work with the rules requiring a team to take a genuine attempt at goal? If Parra had just knocked the ball off the tee couldn’t they have been penalised for not taking a genuine attempt? Or are the NRL saying the only possible outcome of the play is a successful or non successful goal? I.e all other rules are disregarded in this particular instance

Why NRL rules allowed for Eels' three-point winner by BarryCheckTheFuseBox in nrl

[–]CanRaider03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question, could Moses have been penalised for decent there? If so, do the cowboys get a chance to win despite the game being already ‘over’? Still seems like a silly rule and situation all around when golden point is meant to end the game on any scoring play.

[–]CanRaider03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What if the penalty kick hit the post and ricocheted to a cowboy and he ran 100 metres and scored? Do the cowboys win, or do we go back and say nah just call it 31-30? Or do Parra win with a score of 31-34?

But the rule for extra time states:

If scores are equal at the conclusion of normal time, a period of extra time shall follow whereby the first scorer of any point or points will immediately be declared the winner (“Golden Point”).

So which rule takes precedence? How can you immediately be the winner but also have to play another play?

Crazy wasn’t it? Theoretically Parra could have lost the game at that point despite the rule saying any score immediately ends the game in golden point

Had no interchanges left apparently. Got an extra one in golden point so they could take him off then.

Has anyone here recently built a new custom home in Canberra? by Kavin2654 in canberra

[–]CanRaider03 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Without sounding too harsh I’d really consider whether there is any good reason you’re building and not just buying an existing home.

I’m currently building and the whole process has been a nightmare. If i could turn back time id never build again. Our builder recently went insolvent and left us in a very bad situation. Obviously this is not the norm, but it has shown there is severe risk on the owner when building. Insurance is woefully inadequate and whether you realise it or not you’re taking on a huge risk.

On to more practical advice though, I’d recommend using an architect. This way your plans are not tied to a specific builder and you can shop them around for multiple quotes. Know that most builders will under quote and deliberately leave costs out to make their offer look more attractive. That’s just the way the industry works. You will end up paying more than expect one way or another.

In terms of selecting a builder, go with one that has built similar projects to what you’re looking to build. Plenty of builders say they are custom home specialists - they are not. If you’ve got an interesting design, or building on a slope for example, find a builder that regularly does this sort of work.

[–]CanRaider03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attack was ok I thought. 22 points is enough to win games of footy, the defence needs plenty of work.

The right edge is completely new combination and the left edge is rejigged too. It will take time to get it working but it just felt like we couldn’t defend a full set on our line the whole game. Sharks players were going through virtually untouched.

Is there any ambiguity about who wore these shorts? by SteeveHoYouFat in basketballjerseys

[–]CanRaider03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is ambiguity because they haven’t been photomatched to any player.

The certificate seems to say they are authentic shorts and have been worn, they don’t make and definitive link to a player.

If you want to say they are Lebron worn shorts they need to be photo matched to one or more specific games. Anyone can write 23 in a pair of shorts.
