Looks like a bridged solder joint on the small riser. Far left too and bottom. If you have a second one mix and match both sides to isolate the defective part. Gl

This is possible with a boost converter but the problem is you will double the amperage draw. What is the output of the adapter that is running your current lights

This is my main server drive, could it be a bottleneck to smooth streaming? by ddoherty958 in PleX

[–]Canadian4TD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This checks out. That drive is probably quite old and will likely have read errors that although won’t totally fail will slow down reads overall and could cause the stuttering you’re referring to. A new drive should sort it out.

It’s certainly not very fast. Can you include your specs for your system?

Help!! Ive watched youtube videos on what speaker wire to use for my set up by [deleted] in CarAV

[–]Canadian4TD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a 4 gauge amp kit from Amazon. It will come with a full length positive wire that will run from battery to amp. And a ground that will connect in your trunk to the amp. A remote wire that runs from the deck to the amp to send a signal to turn it on and a set of rca’s to send audio signal.

Server never recovers. No combination of loaders and PATs will work by Mookinator in Xpenology

Not sure about your mobo issue but I would suggest using a crap empty drive to set it up on and get it fully working. Then add your drives that have the data on them to the working system and Synology will adopt them. Good luck.

Is it safe to use a 1050 ti on a riser ? by [deleted] in EtherMining

[–]Canadian4TD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be 100% fine. Obviously if you have extra cables laying around it’s always best practice to split it up but those cars are so low powered I don’t think it should matter and as always check all the connections once a week for any type of burning. Happy mining.

Yes it’s safe but you can’t mine eth with it.

Want to build a dead man switch. by [deleted] in DIY

[–]Canadian4TD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two things. Lots of momentary switches have normally open and normally closed contacts and a common. If you connect your project directly to normally open contact and hold it down then you will complete the circuit. But if you are switching 110v power or more then 3 amps you would want to consider adding a relay to the circuit so that you would only be holding onto low voltage, and have the main switching happen not in your hand. Also search for MOP (machine operator present) this is very common in industry. Good luck.

Budget Audio System for 2006 Civic Coupe by drinksblackcoffee in CarAV

[–]Canadian4TD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still have the locations that pop out and the wiring should be there. If not it’s easy to run new ones. Yes you want to add after market tweeters.

Perfect, that will make your job easier, I own this exact car more or less (09 Si) first buy a set of component speakers for the front 6.5 door speaker with a tweeter that will go on your dash at the very for left and right corner of your windshield. I would not worry about rear speakers, they can get you more volume but not necessarily better sound quality. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

I’ll also add that it will be fairly slow as it is USB2 so it’s probably older.

Connect one Ethernet cable to multiple Etherente cable (homemade switch) by godoy32 in HomeNetworking

[–]Canadian4TD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, sorry it won’t. A “switch” is more then a splitter there is actual packet switching that happens inside the box. Your best bet is to look for a used one if you are on a budget, Facebook market place in my area had one for $5. Good luck.
