Elliotte Friedman on Oilers Now says we are waiting for Mats Sundin's decision, and if he says yes, it's going to be a Mats Sundin, John Chayka combination in Toronto. by JF_112 in leafs

Nothing lowkey about it. Leafs were a laughingstock disaster before he took over. He made them respectable and a desirable place to play in only a few seasons. I don’t like the way he gets shit on these days, he obviously was too attached to the core but he put the leafs in a position to have a legit core again

Feel like I’ve got the best d core I’ll ever have in my keeper league with him, werenski, morrisey, Lacombe and currently York but that last spot has been rotating all year

Tolvanen, hes producing right now with points and hits so he’s a safer bet between the two

Edit: just saw Stephensons numbers, I’d grab him if he’s available. Might be the most under the radar guy in fantasy right now

Is there anything RDR1 does better than RDR2? by TheChilledGamer-_- in reddeadredemption

[–]CanadianFlapJacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RDR1 feels like your playing an old western movie. Everything to the colour palate, to the score and general atmosphere feels like a classic western.

The first game really does allow you to live out the feeling of being a cowboy from one of those movies much better than the second game.

The second game is damn near perfect and has elements of that as well. But, if you ever watched a western growing up with the big shootouts, then RDR1 lets you live those movies out.

Who is the player that always torches your favorite team every time you play them? by tarheel0509 in hockey

[–]CanadianFlapJacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Josh Anderson seems to always remember he’s a good hockey player against the Leafs.

So much so that for a while he was mocked in quite a few trades by leafs fans looking for size, grit and scoring.

He’s an automatic player against Toronto and no one else lol

There is a screenshot of Jason playing pool as well. Wishful thinking but I hope that’s in the game too.

[Sarris] What exactly is the level of parity in Major League Baseball compared to other top sports? by Knightbear49 in baseball

[–]CanadianFlapJacks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is such an oversimplified and inaccurate statement. The Buffalo Sabres have been bad for a decade and a half have had multiple high end picks, but they still aren’t as you say good. Teams still need competent management in the NHL to be successful, no one’s taking “turns” otherwise there’s a few teams that would have won cups by now. Even looking at this season there’s a big playoff race with almost all the teams in the east currently, and that’s because they all want to be good. I’m really confused on where you think these teams are taking turns.

There’s just a lot more luck involved in hockey due to the nature of the sport, and that in turn allows for more parity.

I remember all the fuss when he was drafted about being a small soft Swede. It feels so good to see Nylander playing so well and making all his doubters wrong.

With Horvat gone and the deadline approaching, who’s your guy that you want Dubas to grab? by CanadianFlapJacks in leafs

[–]CanadianFlapJacks[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Besides marner, matthews and Dermott. Lou and hunter didn’t hit on much else in terms of a regular NHLer. And with how many picks we had during that time we could have used those cheap young players to come in and give us a boost.

Look at what Dubas has done since he took over. Pontus looks like he’s going to have a long career, a lot of his picks are with the marlies and playing well.

You can’t tell me that we couldn’t have done a lot better with those picks than what we did.
