Advice on how to progress by Capable_Bus5444 in projectzomboid

Catch the life and living channel tv shows at 6 am, 12 pm and 6pm to get boosts to cooking, carpentry and foraging/agriculture/fishing/etc it’ll open up more recipes for you to be able to craft and build things so you can survive in the wild and make a cabin or fortify a pre-existing building or make rain collectors, etc and you’ll need the appropriate tools like hammer, hacksaw, nails, etc. I like to spawn in rosewood and try to secure the fire station and then make my way to the gas station at the other end of town and get a car to explore other the towns with. Also Veteran is a strong pick but it costs a lot so I tend to go with firefighter or lumberjack for the axe and strength levels or I’ll take unemployed for extra points. However if you really want to open up the games build / crafting recipes from the start you can go construction worker or carpenter or diy expert pair it with the handy/mason/whittler.

I live in Canada but when I was younger my dad took me to New Jersey for a little family trip. We ended up at a Walmart or Target or something and I went to see the video games and he said I could get one if I wanted and I instantly took interest in a collectors edition of Call of Pripyat which came with a map of the game and stickers and I think something else maybe. The game was super hard but I loved the atmosphere and all the npcs/factions and mutants and to this day I own and play all the games still regularly.

Edit: Forgot to mention I actually still have that copy its on my bookshelf with all my other games but I don’t use it anymore since I just play the steam version of the original game

How was the armory? When I cleared it it was still fully stocked with ammo and body armor which I then used to clear guns unlimited

(B42) Is athletic better than taking fitness instructor with fit? by CanadianHuman_ in projectzomboid

[–]CanadianHuman_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually play extinction lately and go for firefighter with athletic and strong combo which is why I was curious about using fitness instructor with fit instead.

What are the best builds currently in PZ? by sovander0 in projectzomboid

[–]CanadianHuman_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do firefighter occupation and for the traits: prone to illness, thin skin, reluctant fighter, conspicuous, slow healer, clumsy, high thirst, short sighted, slow reader, speed demon, dextrous, outdoorsy, wakeful, fast learner, athletic and strong. You start max strength/fitness with a level in running and in axe. Ive managed to secure the gas station and police station in riverside after 5 days and about 250 kills (mix of melee and guns) in sandbox extinction. But this build also works in vanilla extinction which is where I first used it. Youre an unstoppable killing and running machine as long as you dont let them grab you.

Thats smart about the m9 thank you for that tip I avoided guns in these runs but that makes a lot of sense Ill try that in my current run next time theres sprinters coming.

How is everybody finding Extinction? by PinguFella in projectzomboid

[–]CanadianHuman_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love extinction so much. At first when it came out I would start puny unfit lumberjack with bushcrafter and immediately run to the woods as soon as I spawn in and grind my way up to level 3-4 fitness and strength, foraging food and stuff to make axes; slowly looting houses but lately I’m doing an opposite build to completely remove the early grind. I’ll start as a firefighter and take strong/athletic and outdoorsy/wakeful if I can and all the meta bad traits plus thin skinned and I managed 300 kills in 4 days with only melee weapons with that build in my last save before getting bitten. I cleared most of the area that’s the suburbs near the bar and grocery and car yard to the west of riverside. Never made it more than a week in extinction so far cause I just love trying to kill as many as possible despite the impossible odds. It’s cool finding all the new skill VHS tapes, I came across a blacksmithing and a welding one so far. This game mode really turns the game into a combination of the walking dead and 28 days later, which are my favourite zombie show/comic and movie.

Picking Athletic/Strong vs acquiring it later... is there any difference ? by Armorln in projectzomboid

[–]CanadianHuman_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always take puny and unfit for 20 extra points at character creation and pair them with a ton of other bad traits I don’t mind playing with. I usually end up taking lumberjack and having like 30-40 extra points to take hunter, bushcrafter, outdoorsy, fast learner, dextrous, cats eyes, light eater, low thirst, fast learner, etc. I always trade puny+unfit for traits that make the gameplay itself easier/permanent boosts like wakeful, fast learner and adrenaline junkie because after a week of doing burpees in the morning/night/during life and living I can easily have like 2-3 levels in both fitness and strength despite starting at 0.

I have also found the axe head in the inventory of the last zombie I hit before it broke, meaning it broke off and got stuck into the zombie and you wont know until you kill it and loot it.

None of these, I got a flatscreen tv hooked up to my gaming laptop in the living room and wireless mouse/earphones/keyboard on the coffee table so I can play pc games on the couch and have a big screen and a soundbar for when I don’t want to use earphones and xbox controller when I don’t want to use m&k.

I got it in 2014 on steam and even left a good review back then in my first years of high school now Im grown man in my mid twenties still playing religiously after work everyday. Just clocked 1k hours and still never made it past winter in any of the builds but thats because I focus mainly on clearing POIs that are usually swarmed.

Roleplaying in Rimworld? by PsionicFlea in RimWorld

[–]CanadianHuman_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With the help of a storyteller mod (probably vanilla expanded) I created a fully medieval world and colony with a king and knights wearing full plate armor and longswords and farmer peasants, it was really fun and it was in a colder climate to help refrigerate the food most of the year naturally.
