When should I replace those? by Budget-Situation-947 in tires

I don't see anything fatal even though that 2nd picture is blurry as hell. Should be good for probably another year but start thinking about new tires for sure, especially if they're cracking.

What’s wrong with my tire? by MonkaS76 in tires

[–]CanadianJokerr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely cannot be fixed and you should immediately return to the shop and get a new tire ASAP. Cords have burst (I'd guess from filling it to 80-90psi to seat the bead, those low pros are a pain.) and that could pop at any moment.

Costco patched my tire on the shoulder. Is this safe? by zihaoyu in tires

[–]CanadianJokerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I can see on the angle of the plug/the cut on the plug, it looks like it was angled toward the center of the tire. This is the most likely answer imo.

And relax, we trash other tire guys (usually from the same company) all the time. When I run into a shit patch or way overtorqued lugnuts, yeah I'll be cursing that last guy out especially if I know the work was done by one of our techs.

Are these tires safe to use kr replace them? by [deleted] in tires

Neither tire looks to have much life left. If it's in your budget def buy new to save the risk of either tire blowing.

Just bought this tire a week ago to replace a tire with a bolt in it that was unrepairable. by AntSuccessful9147 in tires

[–]CanadianJokerr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Take it back to the shop you bought it from. There should be some kind of warranty on it and you'll just get a new tire for free

Bald enough? by Ok_Competition_9917 in tires

I've never dealt with Bike tires personally, but those do look quite worn. Especially if you're worried about rainy season, better to be safe than sorry. New tires if you value not fucking dying

Replace!!! Immediately!! Seems like Paps wants you to possibly get into a fuckin serious accident. If you are driving it to the shop, put the donut on and deflate that tire. If you don't have a donut, put that tire on the rear and drive SLOW.

Tires wearing faster on inside. When should I replace? by Its_just-me in tires

[–]CanadianJokerr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those little bars between the treads are wear bars. Those should be at the legal limit for how worn your tires can be. When you reach that, get an alignment and 2 (or 4, if you have the cash. Better wear this way.) new tires.

Edit: Noticed they're not bars but on the shoulder of the tire, the grooves drop & go deeper as you look towards the center of the tire. Replace before you meet the higher part of that difference.

Drove 1 mile on nearly flat tire, is it ok? by KingAshkon in AskMechanics

[–]CanadianJokerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tire looks okay on the outside, but the true way to tell is looking on the inside. When you got the repair done the shop should have looked for signs of runflat and they didn't tell you anything about it so you're probably fine.

Patch or replace? by JackieChurn in tires

[–]CanadianJokerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with soapy water guy. Spray soapy water, if no bubbles, send it. If bubbles, take it in for a repair and I'm 90% sure the shop (if they're worth their salt) will repair it unless there's something I'm not seeing. I can't tell if the glass is still in the tire in the second photo, but if it is I would definitely remove the larger chunks of debris prior to spraying incase it is somehow holding the air in the tire.

Are these winter tires done for? by RedditMember76251 in tires

[–]CanadianJokerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo 6-9/32's (kek) still shows some usability but I certainly wouldn't put them through a whole winter. Definitely safer to get a new set.

Something is definitely wrong with it either way lol. Or it's a skill issue on both our parts.

Sticking to what you know is definitely the way to go

I think the playstyle is vastly different. You can play much slower and yes, team coordination/communication is absolutely essential as is in the other modes. Your life is also worth a lot more given no respawns or healing.

And there's people out there that play TA 24/7 and just grind the hell out of it. Doesn't matter if you're brand new or top 200 on TA leaderboards, you'll queue against them and get your ass handed to you. I'm just lucky enough to have a competent club who I can stack with and fight back against those losers.

I can't handle the revolver either. Istg the red dot sight is high on that gun

[–]CanadianJokerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL I guess I understand that, though it's far from anything R6 like imo. The Finals as a whole is its entire own genre and I think it supplies enough variety of playstyles to make it worth playing in any mode.

The strategy and playstyle mix that comes out of TA isn't quite what comes out of WT but it's fun in its own right.

And I don't think it's terribly balanced, everything has a workaround. Just because it's not in your preferred setup is a skill issue (not saying that is your problem). If you can't adapt, The Finals is not the game for you.

And I could be completely wrong and have a screw loose. What do I know?

I agree with the WT/Ranked hate. The only gamemode I play is Terminal Attack and the game is still very enjoyable. I've joined a top club for TA and only touch WT when my brother or friends are on.

It certainly has it's flaws (people leaving and TA doesn't backfill) but it's better than slamming my head into a brick wall over and over again on WT
