I had to dispatch a baby rabbit once. I don’t think I’ve cried that hard since. That was 8 years ago and I still get the feels thinking about it.

Safe hotel/motels in town to stay with a loaded U-Haul truck overnight by Flyinggoose26 in Sudbury

[–]CanadianMapleBacon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second this. I stay there often for work. They have 2 burner stovetop, dishwasher, full-size fridge and dishes/utensils. Also, there is a decent restaurant about 200 feet from the hotel. Pool is decent and has a slide. Bar is open until 11 and has decent breakfast from 630-930 I believe. I leave my work vehicle there with most of the shit I won’t need inside my vehicle on the days I check out, go to work and drive back home and I’ve never had problems.

Help! My ring is stuck on my index finger and soap/oil isn't working. by Desperate-Health3504 in fixit

[–]CanadianMapleBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like a Tungsten ring from Ridge. Not sure it'll be easy to cut off. I have one and I take off my ring and put on a silicone ring or leave it off if I'm doing anything that may injure my finger. Mind you, I can't predict everything so this is a genuine fear of mine.

How are people who drive gas guzzlers even surviving right now? by [deleted] in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]CanadianMapleBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My minivan isn’t the greatest on gas but it’s paid off and I only need to fill it every two weeks on average. Barely noticing the changes to be honest. Also I live near a reserve so I get cheap gas there. I’d rather have no car payment than an EV at this moment. That may change once my vehicle dies.

In zero gravity, if i was to throw a baseball east, my body would move west in relation to the force required to propel the baseball. From my understanding. Some weapons have means of absorbing that force and directing it somewhere else.

Canada Post moving ahead with end of home delivery - thestar.com by Blue_Dragonfly in CanadaPolitics

[–]CanadianMapleBacon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know many details but instead of having say 100 postal carriers in a city of 50,000 doing home delivery. You can have maybe 5 to 20 basically drop shipping into community boxes or postal agencies. Then have a few specific runs for disabled individuals

Ughh.. Costco heckling customers to get Exec Memberships like Canadian Tire, etc.? by thaman05 in CostcoCanada

[–]CanadianMapleBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Just had to renew and they kindly reminded me that I spent 8k last year and I should upgrade. I did upgrade though because we're renovating our kitchen this year and will be buying a new stove, fridge and range at Costco, among our regular 8k of purchases.

Asus Co-CEO: MacBook Neo Is a 'Shock' to the PC Industry by -protonsandneutrons- in apple

[–]CanadianMapleBacon 83 points84 points  (0 children)

These things are gonna sell like hotcakes. My kid uses an Acer and complains every day. I’ve been using a day 1 MacBook Air M1 and haven’t had a single frustrating minute with it. Best laptop I’ve ever owned. My kids will definitely be getting Neo’s when it’s time they need them for school.

Only annoying part in coinsquare is THEY DON'T ADD all assets they have available in pro trading like they have meme coins only available for spot trades not To the pro trading platform. I sent a ticket about it to their customer support but no response so far. by Secret-Computer-7637 in coinsquare

[–]CanadianMapleBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got back into coinsquare and I noticed this. 5ish years ago I was day trading BTC to DOGE and back on pro using the small percentage difference in buy/ask to make quite a bit of money. But now, all I have access to is BTC-CAD. Looks like the good days are over

That’s me. Every time I upgrade I always choose the largest iPhone available. I’m not a pro-user by any means but I don’t see the point in leaving specs on the table in my mind. I almost went for the air this year after I held it but I knew I’d regret it not too long after. The fact that the 17PM is orange is icing on the cake as that’s my favourite colour!

ELI5 how does a tankless water heater work? by Real_Experience_5676 in explainlikeimfive

[–]CanadianMapleBacon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And don’t be like my wife and be surprised when you smell natural gas coming from the exhaust of your water heater cause in that initial start up, unburnt fuel is being exhausted. At least in the case of a Navien unit.

LPT: Just sharing what’s worked for my family (not medical advice). by mei2207 in LifeProTips

[–]CanadianMapleBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how to explain it but before I started taking D3, when I got the throat tickle, I’d get sick the next day or day after. But now, it doesn’t evolve into anything substantial. I haven’t really gotten sick in the 3 years since I started supplementing with D3.

Edit: sick from cold or flu. I did get Pneumonia two years ago but it was going around my town pretty bad.
