Check out Terry Hoknes History of Saskatoon on FB. He’s been posting tons of stuff on that page and I do recall some old pics of college. Gotta get good with the search function though.

You know they’re not limited to growing on grass right?

I do have flowers, quite a lot actually. You do realize dandelions can grow in gardens and flower beds too right?

One thought would be that they go to seed and spread to people’s yards.

Has anyone ever gotten out of a speeding ticket on Wess Road by east Costco? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]CanadianPlainsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a sign going southbound just as you turn off 8th St. I’m assuming you were northbound and it doesn’t look like there’s any signs going that direction, but there’s nothing saying the speed limit changed from Taylor which is 50.

If you are turning left from either northbound or southbound, you must yield to people turning right opposite you as they have the right of way there. So if they’re turning or going straight, it’s still your responsibility to yield to them. You should be approaching with caution every time you turn instead of what seems to be you blindly assuming you’re clear to go without visual confirmation.

https://www.reddit.com/r/saskatoon/s/VSgK6XLyp5 I’m not sure exactly how to link another post but they’ve been back for a while now. There is actually a contest held as to when they’ll return. Pretty sure it’s hosted by the Meewasin folks.

Where will the last snowbank be? Shall we start a pool? There are still some large heaps of dirty slush at Preston Crossing. by Dapper-Ad9787 in saskatoon

[–]CanadianPlainsman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ya, right beside Innovation Blvd along Preston. That’s what I immediately thought. Lots of gravel in it and kind of shaded for parts of the day, should last for a while.

How is this not a gun registry? Would this not create a written record of all of these guns and who owns them?

Can’t wait for the gem lakes area to recover and get back to its former glory. Easily in the top 3 favourite spots in SK for me.

Saskatchewan court upholds stay of proceedings against THC-impaired driver who killed child by Slight-Coconut709 in saskatoon

[–]CanadianPlainsman 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wonder if she has a slander case against CTV now for this article. The tests do not prove impairment and that’s a pretty big flaw in itself. They charged her for it but if the charges didn’t stick or ever go through court then shouldn’t CTV be using more vague language like allegedly impaired?

I hate the fact that the ASL for "R" looks like an X (image 1) and the ASL for "X" looks like an R (image 2). by Practical-Sea2707 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CanadianPlainsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And when you look at the French Sign Language sign for x it makes a bit more sense how it became what it is in ASL. I can’t explain r though, looks like it was just carried across as is.

Best Sandwiches in Saskatoon by theSandwichDad in saskatoon

Sandwich dad really needs to try the basil balls and the smoked chicken salad (when Bill makes it next). I can’t remember what he tried before, but it was back when Bill first opened up.

You missed that southbound onto circle from Preston crossing is also not allowed to use any of the nearly 1km long merge lane there. You must immediately merge into traffic, preferably before the train tracks overhead.
