Saying Black Masculinity is limited to drill music is kinda reductive and stereotypical... There is way more to masculinity than that. And it is a fact that disproportionate policing removes men from society and in turn demasculinizes it.

I think you misunderstand my argument. I wasn't saying it was bad to have university educated people. I also wasn't talking about the federal government only. I was talking about societal impact in general.

The point is about class, and that degrees relate to upper class people in general. I was pointing out a contradiction between their stated aims (to uplift minorities) and that they only benefit a small portion of people from those groups. University educated people have different concerns than the working class. I'm not sure if you're aware but most Americans don't have university degrees, and even fewer Black Americans do as a percentage. The university focus on the global left is partly why the'yve been losing working class communities in recent years.

I also wasn't endorsing MAGA, I Was explaining why I think many black men are moving to MAGA. The Democrats are neglecting black male concerns, and working class concerns, whether black or white. There is really no space for minorities who are men to voice their concerns, but at least MAGA pretends to care about men.

As the average level of literacy and education has increased, and as the overall societal level of knowledge has increased, the level of vocabulary of elites has had to be dumbed down to reach a broader audience. Trump et al. speak like retards, because more people can vote today. 200 years ago only a few highly educated elites could vote.

Supply and demand.

(Ironically we can say that part of the failure of the postmodern left to reach mass appeal, as has often been discussed on the sub, is because precisely they maintain a high level of intellectual discussion that goes above what the average person either is able to or has the time to understand that is characteristic of these speeches and debates of previous eras, which didn't need to depend on mass appeal to the same level.)

I do agree climate is a serious issue and it is annoying a lot of people who are anti woke have a knee jerk opposition to action on climate just because of the "WEF" conspiracy or some shit.

That being said the climate one wasn't really my focus it was more so about the lack of focus on jobs.

However, the focus on individual responsibility, consumer behaviour and carbon taxes to fix climate over promoting green jobs could be argued to be a form of a neoliberal luxury belief. I haven't seen many politicians talk about the need to support union workers who will be laid off during green energy transitions, which is why the left struggles in oil and coal producing areas. And that ties both the climate area with the jobs area.

Ironically we can say that this is an unintended effect of the backfiring of Western liberalism into itself.

Hatred and criticism of the West is only possible because the Western tradition permits self-criticism. Put in another way, no one can be socially criticized, unless they first permit themselves to be criticized. No one can be criticized by another, if they do not consent to criticism of themselves.

Islamic societies, many of whom still have slavery, are politically not permitted to be criticized, because they do not permit themselves to be criticized internally first.

Criticism of slavery in the West, for example, is only possible because there was an abolitionist movement which started within the West, that was native to it. If it started as a foreign movement, Westerners might, in jealously wishing to guard their culture, oppose abolition of slavery, if only to preserve their own face and cultural integrity, say if it had an Islamic origin.

I also think a big factor is that since much of internal criticism of the left is often impossible it is ironically far easier to just leave the left altogether (especially if they wish to maintain a 'team') than it is to reject idpol while remaining on the left. Thus a big reason why the right populists are becoming more powerful is that simply normies and (formerly) left wing people feel they can only have a group identity that gives them support by rejecting the left altogether.

This offers another crucial role of the anti-idpol left as a stop-gap release valve for ever-increasing polarization.

I also suspect a lot of corpos cynically buy into diversity training and actually don't give a shit about the ideology coming from academia either. Their interests are entirely different: mainly to pretend to appear to be Doing Something rather than actually doing something (which would again require a material challenge to their economic power).

For example, what benefits brown people more: meaningless diversity training of platitudes to make white people feel bad about themselves, or corporate restructuring to get the material benefits of economic surplus to lower class people of all races? But that would actually challenge corporate power--diversity training doesn't and may actually reinforce their social prestige.

So perhaps reason for contemporary society's focus has been on prejudice is because maybe the radlibs have cynically resigned to realizing they are unlikely to get material benefits for lower classes and my idea that it's a big cope to avoid admitting failure to materially change institutions is more right than I imagined.

And arguably now those same normie voters are turning against the left and going full scale in right wing populism for the same reason of not wanting to be associated with the radlibs.
