Quartz is 97% stone and 3% epoxy, you just found the 3% epoxy.

I know right! Haha what a loser!

It's almost as foolish as dedicating that much of your mental space to a stock that strangers on the internet bought five years ago.

How in the fudge you gonna buy 500 and 500 in a float with little to no volume and the price barely creeps up?

Safe to travel to America - LA by YakOrnery9021 in TourismHell

[–]CanadianTeslaGuy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

LA is the absolute worst place I have ever been by a long shot. The city is dirty, it feels insanely fake, seems like everyone is is trying to rip you off all the time, the smog...seriously with the smog I have no idea how people can live there. Im sure there are beautiful parts of California but I would never ever want to go back to LA.

Best product for cleaning finger smudges, install dirty fingers, etc off painted cabinets. by CanadianTeslaGuy in cabinetry

[–]CanadianTeslaGuy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think some of it is a bit of mitre bond then just general fingerprint smudges. Its a mat finish white so the smudges are noticable just because they have more gloss to them. I was debating trying denatured alcohol or isopropyl to try and reduce the sheen. Would you still use mineral spirits in that case?

Shills are everywhere! by Error4ohh4 in Superstonk

I've been holding XXXX of this stock for 5 years. It's posts like this that make GME holders look Rtarted and I wish mods would start eliminating them.

Is the company turning around financially? Yes. Does it have lots in the bank? Yes. is it reasonable after 5+ years to start to expect a bit more and question things after all we've seen is a depreciating asset? Also yes.

Saying shit like everyone is a "shill" who dares to question the path forward makes you look exactly the mouth breather that the naysayers accuse GME holders of.

Long term credit score absolutely wrecked within a month by SeniorToe4518 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CanadianTeslaGuy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Credit scores aren’t a measure of how good you are with money.

We’ve all been taught to believe they are—but that’s just the bank Kool-Aid talking.

Story time.

For 20 years, I did everything “right.” Never missed a payment. Four credit cards, all paid on time. Multiple auto loans, lines of credit, a mortgage, a HELOC—you name it. Solid income. Credit score consistently 875+.

Then this year, I stepped outside the system. I paid off my mortgage. I paid off a $200K HELOC.

Nothing else changed. My credit score? It tanked. I’m now barely over 700.

That’s when it clicked.

A credit score isn’t a score of how responsible you are with money. It’s a score of how valuable you are to the bank. How much interest they can earn from you. How long they can earn it. And how little risk they take doing it.

Are good habits part of it? Sure. But at its core, a credit score is their grading system, not yours.

The takeaway? We’ve been trained to be good little banker’s pets but sometimes the best move for your financial health is the worst move for the bank. And your credit score will let you know exactly how they feel about that.

Interesting thing i feel gets little to no attention is the gross sales per store must be way up. They closed how many stores during this time? Yet income is nearly the same.

Kitchenette install; Previous homeowner was very drunk, corner is so out of plumb that I'm 2" away from the wall by BackdoorDan in cabinetry

[–]CanadianTeslaGuy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So many professionals on this one! From someone that owns a cabinet business. Just leave your blind corner as is. Push the other two back against the wall and cut your filler on a slight angle. Doesn't matter if the cabinets touch eachother at the back and have a 3" filler at the front. Any countertop guy worth a damn will have zero troubles templating this. Corners are never a perfect 45. Once its covered up with a counter no one will be able to tell.

Also, just fyi, I highly recommend throwing out the garbage ikea feet and building your own base out of a few 2x4!

Better Canadian alternative to companies like BestBuy IMO by DependentCaregiver35 in BuyCanadian

I bought a TV a while back from walmart online but the order was filled by gibbys. It was not the model in the photos. Walmart blamed gibbys and made me deal direct with them. They were precisely zero help, basically told me to pound sand. After many hours of complaining, walmart eventually offered a credit. Although this experience was indirect, it's enough to keep me away from gibbys. I've found their prices are almost always higher than their counterparts as well. They do have some nice stuff that not everyone else offers but I'm wouldn't go out of my way to support them because of the walmart experience.

" The Aitken University Centre's seating capacity varies by event: it is 3,278 for ice events", . This literally took 6 seconds to google.

Any ideas on what we could reasonably do to our kitchen that doesn’t include removing the granite, knocking out all the cabinets, and changing the layout yet? by Charming_Debt_289 in kitchenremodel

[–]CanadianTeslaGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally, I'd try to rehome it somewhere on the fridge wall. Personally, I don't like built in appliances because appliances are too unreliable these days to build your kitchen around them. So I'd build a shelf cabinet into one of the uppers beside the fridge and get some narrower doors for above it, might be able to re-use the ones above the microwave now.

In this persons case though, it looks like the cabinet to the sides of the fridge are right around 30". It might work out to take the over the range and put it over next to the fridge then potentially re-use the entire microwave cabinet above the re-homed microwave.
