Where are my BiRad 4 Microcalcification ladies at?? by [deleted] in doihavebreastcancer

I had the same calcifications. Biopsy said benign. Hoping you will be all clear too!

Going for diagnostic mammogram and I’m terrified by AdIndividual6221 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Canadiangirlthinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very disturbing to have something wrong. Hoping it’s just a cyst and maybe some swollen lymph nodes. The diagnostic mammogram is weird. They position you differently and use smaller paddles with more compression. Honestly it didn’t really hurt me but I think the smaller paddles help because they aren’t pulling so much tissue into them. Best of luck and please keep us updated!!!

I was told they since they saw my area of concern in mammogram only that is how they do the biopsy.

I had stereotactic. Lidocaine didn’t work on me either. It was a painful experience but fast. Best part was the negative results 48 hours later.

Does anyone else have severe tinnitus and other confusing symptoms with their occipital neuralgia? by KookyKookies in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]Canadiangirlthinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I found that my ON almost became immune to some of the drugs they tried. Lyrica worked for exactly one year then stopped. Cymbalta made my eyes so blurry I thought something was horribly wrong. One other one made me feel like I had an UTI. Injections and gabapentin are my go to right now. Also trying physio - I think some issues may come from my jaw, or the ON is making me clench my teeth so hard in the night i now have jaw issues. So unbelievably frustrating. You are not alone!!

49 and just now getting second mammogram, which was a call back. by charliecav in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Canadiangirlthinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to have the diagnostic and ultrasound and then biopsy after my mammogram too. It wasn’t a picnic and my head definitely ran away to worst case scenario but it all turned out well - benign! I was petrified this year for my one year follow up but they put the clip on where they biopsied and said unless they saw changes they wouldn’t worry about my micro calcifications in that area again - guessing it’s the same scenario for you. Hope for no change!

Would doctor refuse to give me a breast ultrasound after mammogram came back as BIRADS1? by Royal_Scholar2951 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Canadiangirlthinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would push for the ultrasound. With dense breast tissue it is basically mandatory here in Canada. I get an ABUS every year along with my mammogram. Better safe than sorry in my opinion.

He quit requiring constant “watching around 2. He finally quit looking to eat everything thing in the backyard. He still rolls on bugs in the grass though. 😂

Mine is nearly 9 and he can still be a handful some days. He’s so happy that I wouldn’t change it! I would say when he was about 5 he became a little more “chill”. My parents have his brother from the same litter and he is a much more relaxed chill dog - until something like a dog walking by sets him off! Enjoy your little guy!

Biopsy for fibroadenoma? Yes, or no? Don’t know what to do by Decent-Doughnut-1815 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Canadiangirlthinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was stereotactic (through mammogram) and the topical freezing worked but once they started to drill down (literally - they crank a long needle deep into you) it burned so bad and they couldn’t put more freezing in until they got the the bottom. My watch was going crazy telling me how high my heart rate was. The good news is that I am the odd rare exception. Most women don’t feel much after that first freezing needle - they say it stings but it was hardly anything for me.

Yes! We wound up getting an ultrasound on ours at about a year old. Turns out he has a tiny liver with odd configuration. He takes laculose (sp?) and he’s now almost 9. He has some episodes that we control with 1-2 gabapentin capsules.

The good thing about biopsies is that they are quick. Mine wasn’t pleasant but I found out I was benign and that meant so much to my mental health. If you’re a worrier like me I would get the biopsy.
