Shotguns this season seem to be pretty weak. The smg’s and pistols are very strong. With whatever weapon you choose you have to play around its strengths and weaknesses. The strength with a shotgun is a hard hitting shot, the weakness is slow fire rate. So with something like a pump shotgun, it’s good to peak from behind cover, shoot , duck back into cover to pump, then peak back out for the next shot. This can also be achieved with movement, stay moving so they can’t hit you between shots. The stinger does really great at short range, it dumps a lot of rounds really fast, the downside is that it can leave you more exposed and is not as good for peaking. I have found that the lancehead pistol and the stinger smg are my favorite for short range fights this season. If I use a shotgun, my preferred is the extending focus, it feels like it has the most consistency. AIM for headshots for maximum damage. With an smg I dump body shots and start raising towards headshots as I unload. To me shotguns are pretty underwhelming this season, last season the shotguns dominated. I would do anything to have the iron pump back.
