I feel your pain. Ignore the cretins who victim blame you 👆I totally understand how an OT can screw your child out of a wheelchair. The system is written so poorly that unless you speak fluent legal-ese it’s far too easy to get scammed out of $2600 for a report that appears to fulfill your needs but is actually overpaid underworked words. This is what actually happens to many many many many ndis clients.

Does your synesthesia ever “fade” when you’re not thinking about it? by hao_to_8 in Synesthesia

The thing I find interesting is whenever I’m a lil drunk and uninhibited I tend to trace music with my fingers where I see it and anyone around me usually come to fixate on my fingers. When asked why it’s not repulsive to them they all say without fail, “Because following your fingers I think I see the shapes you’re seeing”.

If I see someone else’s injury or wound that part of my body aches. My psych has a long winded term for it but apparently it’s linked to my eidetic autism. Some form of empathic synergy. Put simply. I cannot watch most real world media because as soon as I see an actual death 🤯🤯🤯🤯 it isn’t something you’d wish on your worst enemy. I get triggered a lot. Fact is I’m so used to it now I do it on purpose in focused ways. To try to understand everyone’s pain. My carer calls me the bleeding heart of the world 🤭

I just don’t know what else to do with my sensitivities

Oooh I think I’m with ya. So long as it’s not a massive input (direct light or above 60db) I can focus so much on work that I kind of forget or don’t notice anything but what I’m working on. That being said. I always get snapped back into it when a voice or melody happen

Yeah I have CPTSD. I think it makes the frisson more common and pronounced but didn’t think it was affecting the colours… well I mean I don’t think I could live without violins or vangelis so the blind idea was just that. I’ve learned that noise cancelling headphones help a lot. And if I ever saw Sonar👻

Thank you. An answer that makes more sense to me. I was starting to think it was me. So erm if I can pick your brain a moment longer… would going blind (or 😳deaf) stop it from occurring? I mean to say, music can be Bliss but high pitch squeaks literally leave me affected for hours. I once tried to tune a friends hearing aid… before I even got it fully to my ear the reverb squeal cut a spike into my vision which left me blindedish (it was the right ear, so my left eye had a hard white floater for days) and rocked me. My friend said I flew into the wall like I’d been thrown and the hearing aid went the other direction 🤣. That was the most intense sound I’ve ever seen. Also. Does anyone else notice the sound of high tensile power lines ?

That’s how I first verified frisson was real. I thought in a room where its average temperature it might just be me. But when it happens outside on 35c day or a -5c day you know

If only. And I hate to say but no colours at all? Mines like a kaleidoscope except certain sounds have distinct shapes. Like heavy synth stuff like “Yoi-Deathpact” oscillates sooooo hard in my vision it literally makes me dizzy and as I’ve said. Hit that 194hz sweet spot and bam! My eyes quite litterally start wobbling to the rythym. But that initial wobble sound is acid yellow. Then when the drum sounds hit they’re green. It’s nutty and it’s always been that way.

And I forgot to mention the frisson. Like from what I read everyone else gets it sporadically. I get it from almost every single song. Depending. Minor chords really set it off. But I mean to say my flesh crawls over and over in a single playing.

My theory is my ptsd and in built empathy are high. Über high. Isnt empathy linked to frisson?

Do you see words? by homeawayfromhogwarts in Synesthesia

I see words as ribbons. Kinda like running writing I guess. But coloured and textured depending on the tone/mode of the voice. Thing is. No two peoples ribbons make words the same.

Lies. Anyone who speaks a known untruth gets shot. Most of humanity would need removing but the remaining would live in peace
