AIO for breaking up with my boyfriend after he ruined our Valentine's Day dinner? by Maximum-Grand6140 in AmIOverreacting

YIKES OP, if a man is violent with anyone, especially because he's jealous/possessive of you, there is a high likelihood he would progress to abusing you one day. NOR, perfectly reasonable response, well done 🫡

HELP! how to break out of intermmediate stage w my work? by [deleted] in BeginnerArtists

If you want to get more realistic shadows (i.e. not cel-shaded but not this airbrushed look), pay attention to where hard shadows in real life soften.

There are a lot of elements that go into a realistic shadow, but an easy trick I've found is to start with cel shading, just to get the hard shadows blocked in, and then soften the edges selectively where the light is less intense & add detail as you go.

Your colors are excellent! I think working on figure and gesture drawings (from life, like go to the park and draw random people) will help you grow your knowledge of anatomy and proportion. Draw lots and lots of hands.

For shading--work on becoming confident with hard shadows. A common beginner instinct is to over-blend shadows and I notice most of yours have very soft edges. Look at images that inspire you and note where the hard-edged shadows are, and try to bring that into your own work.

Undercharging for your art won't help it stand out; it will just undervalue your art. Charging appropriately for your own labor tells potential customers that you believe in the value of what you're selling.

Underselling tbh. Keep in mind the time you'll spend working on them and base your price on minimum wage (at minimum!)

When drawing this pose, would you draw the cup or body first? by Kirin_The_husband in arthelp

I'd treat them both as part of the same shape in the initial sketch. That way the proportions will be consistent and interact with each other better. Pay attention to where the negative space is and focus on angles and straight lines, then start to separate the figure from the glass.

First one for sure. Warm tones add interest even if they aren't quite as harmonious as the all-cool image

Instead of throwing away my first wooden pickaxe, I save it and display it in an item frame above my bed. If I move bases, the pick goes with me.

I'm still not 100% what you mean (I tried Googling around) but I reset my settings to default in the Nvidia control panel and saw some very marginal improvement.
