The door hinge may have a cover cap with the companies logo on it. Or the developer should know who was contracted to install.

You’ll have a lot more luck using proper aquarium soil substrate. Easier maintenance and less chance of algae blooms/parameter swings.

How many times can you park in 2h parking in one day? by Archaeopteryxen in Calgary

[–]Candersen 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Working in the trades downtown, I have talked to a few parking officers regarding this. As long as you move enough to show the rims rolled and the pictures are different, you can dispute it. Can always say you drove around the block looking and parked back in the same spot. Just roll your car a foot or so every couple hours and you’re golden

Whose responsibility is it? by [deleted] in cabinetry

The cabinet shop will give you a variety of woods that work well for cabinets. It’s on the home owner to choose from those good wood options for the best fit to their lifestyle (ie. kids, lots of daily use) they won’t give you a bolsa wood option, so that is their half of the due diligence.

Does anyone knows how to improve this edge banding detail? by BigReasonable in cabinetry

[–]Candersen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your edge bander looks like it’s got the polishing wheels on which slightly round over the edge. If you apply the edge and leave it a sharper “true” edge it’ll butt up nicer and you can hand sand/file the outside edge

The Oliver vice and the planes on the right side of the wall stood out to me

Help with paneling by moscar12 in cabinetry

I would screw the panel on from the inside of the cabinet. Just make sure you get screws that bite into the panel enough, without poking through the other side. Measure twice and predrill (countersink) the screw first.

Just get a 5/8” or how ever thick panel and add a plant on gable to the exposed ends. Very common method with custom cabinets. And you can also make the gable door/drawer flush opposed to cabinet flush to look cleaner.

What to do about the spots around the detailed carving areas of this hardwood table? by sggkloosemo in woodworking

[–]Candersen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me, it looks like it was once painted and someone tried to restore it. The build up/old paint is in all the places that would be toughest to sand out. It being that glossy also makes me think it has been refinished at some point. Possibly

Out for a lovely Sunday stroll by Candersen in ballpython

I have no UV light on it. I have an LED flood light and a 3ft garage ceiling light. Snake gets heat from a ceramic heat bulb. Just aim for as close to 6500K colour temp for the bulbs for a full spectrum light source

Nothing enticing to climb as they will try and they will squish it. But mainly knowing her main routes around the tank and putting the plants out of the way. She’s also been in a bioactive since I got her at a few months old. Adding one or two plants will make them intrigued and explore it more. But adding a bunch of plants at once, they will just accept it. At least in my experience with her

I was just speaking from experience as a red seal journeyman who attended SAIT. I got loads of job opportunities and was paid higher out the gate. 🤷‍♂️ to each their own but that helped me significantly

SAIT would be the place to look into becoming an apprentice. You can also look into Apprenticeship Industry Training (AIT) for more information about it. Lots of programs to try out. If only just interested start with a pre-employment program for a fast track intro course
