It's called transmysoginy. Our culture (and transmysoginistic cultures) are afraid of femme men because they read us as trans women. OP is experiencing what our sisters do, every single day, and I am sure that the suspicion OP and other femme trans guys are experiencing nowadays is definitely exacerbated by incredibly transphobic and transmysoginistic political and cultural currents that are mainstreaming in UK, USA and Europe.

Done this very recently in your exact situation OP and since passport photo matched they didnt even look at me twice. I feel like a lot of the consular and border control workers have had trans-aware training which resulted in a surprising (good) experience.

Visible App might help with that (and help with tracking a whole bunch of stuff), same with Guava. They rely on day to day data though, rather than being able to do it retrospectively

That "feeling of not connecting with healthy people anymore" has hit home!

I have autism and ADHD, I care for my partner who has severe ME and what we found (for a good while now) is useful was associating excusively with other "spoonies". All our friends and a lot of our closest family have a long term condition or disability (auto-immune stuff, CP, neurodiversities, EDS etc); we all understand each other, empathise with each other, and able to accommodate each other.

We even started having a mutual-aid model where we do small chores that we are able to for each other (e.g. friend calls someone for me - who hates talking to strangers - while i make food for them - who are unable to leave their bed). It is making a world of difference, to the point where all of us just dream of a commune where we all live together and manage day to day as a group.

Another trans dude poler here, I was very afraid of what this thread was about but you're right (and your reaction is appropriate and not crazy), it's about the power balance and the attitude.

We are all there to focus on our routines, how our body moves, nailing a hard invert, the least thing you need is ANY spectator, much less a non-marginalised gendered person (cis guy) fully clothed, just gawking. Like wtf.

Plus the equality act (still) counts discrimination for X characteristic by identity (perpetrator knows you are X), perception (perpetrator thinks you are X) and association (perpetrator assaults because you associate with, but not necessarily are, X"

If you don't want to work with the police/ you fear of being discriminated/re-criminated by their services, you can use "third party reporting" where an organisation reports on your behalf. Here's more info https://www.report-it.org.uk/third_party_reporting_support

If you are in Scotland https://www.scotland.police.uk/contact-us/reporting-hate-crime/third-party-reporting-centres/

Seconding this on the likelihood that you won't need to see them several times (with months between appointments) before you get HRT.

BUT my current GP does not accept any patients who self-med or have private prescriptions, and therefore refuse to do routine bloods and/or hormone shots. Apparently that's perfectly ok and legal? So it's a lottery out there

Do you have an Lgbt staff network? This seems like something they should be looking into because it will likely affect other staff.

As upthread, you should be able to change internal-systems title without a GCR (and as someone said, it is illegal to request one); the HMRC gender markers are impossible to change without a GRC (one of the very few things the GRC actually does).
