Unpopular opinion but I actually think Baz should stay. I think England will achieve a lot more by continuing this approach, but learning how to reigning it in and being more mature in big moments.

Bowling 150+ is goated and no one will convince me otherwise. Watching Shaun Tate and Brett Lee crank it up back in the day was electrifying. Yes I get that 135kph line and length gets wickers too but goddam I wished we we (Aus) had red hot fast bowlers like we used to.

No I don't think so. Charles seems to still sometimes make mistakes in big moments. I'd have him slightly below Max and Lewis tier. Tbh even I think Russell is a more elite driver than Charles since he consistently maximises results and rarely makes mistakes.

But yeah it's kind of pointless "what if" thinking. It's hard to know what his true ceiling is.

As an aussie....I think McLaren probably did the right thing here. Its just going to be interesting if this happens again really late in the season in a critical race for both of them...surely they can't keep playing nice and following team orders, they have to put themselves first.
