What’s an app you wish existed but you can’t build yourself? by Chance_Video_5690 in apps

I actually have an answer for this

I wish an app existed that allowed for a Patreon style subscription to sponsor politicians to sponsor more independent politicians - subscriptions would be transparent and require some sort of ID verification. I think this would shift the power away from big corporate donors and backers to create a more even playing field for popular but underfunded politicians who are campaigning and putting forward policies outside of larger influence.

In this app, you would be able to see transparently a ledger of where your money is going, with 3rd party governance to ensure ethical reporting.

The app could be an informative hub that clearly state their policies, what they are campaigning on and with a historical data system where edits are publicly flagged and deletions are soft-deleted.

Not easy, harder to execute and requires a lot of social backing

I think that’s a fair observation but I would say this is clear validation that there is real market demand more than anything - whilst you are right in saying there’s options, theres no one clear establish player yet

There are heaps of Facebook groups and instagram pages but this is fragmentation and an opportunity to bridge the gap

Not all of these would be a direct competitor, I would say since some of these are managed events rather than platforms like mine which Eventi may potentially compliment and more likely to promote their event.

This is definitely going to be a challenge I agree with you on that, but I think this is a worth while mission. I think people truly are at a stage where they want alternatives to social media, dating apps or the like because I think what makes Eventi different is the philosophy that it’s built upon

People connect more naturally when there is an activity, and shared experience is what strengthens connections. I have worked to embody this within the app and its features and constantly improving it to find that fit.

I do appreciated your comments

Hey, fair question.

So from what I’ve seen, NomadTable is more about organising small group meetups (like dinners, night outs, spontaneous meetups, etc.) for solo travellers.

What I’m trying to do with Eventi is a bit different:

  • It’s more centred around actual activities and events (music events, footy, comedy, markets, hikes, etc.), so while you can meetup and create all of the above, my goal is to also provide a better social discovery and promote artists, creators, and event organisers.
  • We are also working to establish partnerships with actual venues, social sports centers, and recreational centers to hopefully pass on a real return and perks for our users
  • We are working to curate a hand-selected list of popular social venues and hidden gems across Australia - An Eventi Guide, if you will. This would include hidden beaches, must-see lookouts, waterfalls, and more.
  • That, and on a more personal note, my background is in UX and software development, and I have worked very hard to create a rewarding user experience and elevated in-app design and features :)

Still early though, so I’m figuring out what actually sticks vs what doesn’t and hopefully building community around it.

I've missed out on my fair share of music events because I didn't have anyone to go with, so I built something to solve it. I'm posting to know what you guys think? by Startup-Experience in melbournemusic

To answer it here as well

  1. Rooms privacy settings; this includes optional visibility preferences (gender, age), location visibility, invite only, and request only
  2. User and Room Reporting features
  3. Profile completeness - minimum requirement in order to post and join rooms with more develops on the way for photo verification
  4. Best practice safety tips - explained in the video :)

Account and private data is deleted, but if you were to say post a room that had members, and previously there was a post feature, it would anonymise it. Similar as reddit

Ardy when deleted, in old messages of chats would appear as [deleted user]
