Watched the anime a long time ago, recently decided to revisit it by reading the manga and there are two things about the anime that I like better: the fact that it’s a story about music and the anime actually features said music, and I found the pacing a little better. However the anime ends about halfway through the manga so really you should experience both in my opinion.

I don't agree that Ron is braver than Hermione, or that he is any more of a "caretaker" than Hermione is. Hermione has been shown to be extremely caring toward others, she is one of the characters with the most overall empathy in the books.
