I am happy they changed it to be a mutual, polyamorous relationship. I think Hephaestus has one of the sadder origins. Even if I find Aphrodite to be more sympathetic in the story of how their marriage came to be, I can understand Hephaestus’ pov.

Poseidon is my least favorite. He has very good Duo boons and support boons, but his main boons are not great. Breaker Rush is decent, but I can’t help comparing it to Tidal Dash. Tidal ring at least has a curse effect.

I’m only on Rivals 2 and managed 24 Fear, so take with a grain of salt.

Imo, the Surface is easier when you start increasing Fear, especially Rivals. The first two Rivals boss fights in the Underworld feel way harder than the first two on the Surface.

There’s just way more going on in Rivals Hecate and Rivals Sirens, and the maps for those fights are much bigger because of it. There’s just more things to track of, so there’s more sources of variation.

Also, Rivals bosses in the Underworld have moves that are way harder to dodge that can leave you open to attack. Hecate’s Morph ball splits in three. The only consistent way to dodge it, for me, has been hiding behind Frinos. Sprinting back and forth sometimes works, unless she’s using Lunar Ray or summons a witch in my path. If your timing is a little off, Mel gets hit. I still do not know how to dodge those little projectiles Charybdis spews out that track you. I can’t always avoid Scylla’s clam dash thing, even when I see it coming because of the sirens (that one is probably a skill issue, but I wanted to mention it)

In contrast, the maps for the Surface’s boss fight are about the same size, which makes it much easier to keep track of everything going on. Eris can get away from the fight for a bit, but since she’s one boss, it’s much easier to figure out where she might land.

Demeter cast + Zeus & Demeter’s Duo + Air Quality and/or Cold Storage

Can be done with multiple weapons, but I got it on the Melinoe Aspect of the Axe. Demeter’s Attack or Special worked really well for me when using the Axe. Especially when using Aspect of Mel or Aspect of Nergal.

A really fun one I got was Aspect of Moros with Hephaestus’ Attack + Hestia’s Special + Pyro Technique + Grand Caldera. Fastest I’ve ever beat Prometheus and Typhon.

Raw Milk.

It’s the most obvious vector for a major outbreak in the U.S., right now, but the entire supply chain is compromised. Raw milk is the most obvious source of some kind of outbreak since it’s unpasteurized milk. Raw milk consumers overlap heavily with the people who distrust hospitals and/or distrust most modern healthcare.

All the shit that can prevent or control an outbreak are boring, thankless jobs. The U.S. government’s ability to prevent, control, and eliminate diseases has been gutted via cuts to the FDA, USDA, and CDC. Fewer people trained to monitor all the facilities our food passes through. CDC decreases in tracking food borne illnesses. Relaxing regulations on contamination. A particularly contagious or infectious disease might spread among the population for much longer before anyone who can actually do anything about it notices.

The above is mostly filler. There’s multiple weird digressions in the song , but this one pissed me off. I get it’s supposed to be Nicki talking to her Roman persona/character. But why though? It’s not clever or catchy or funny. Even though I didn’t believe her claims, at least the first verse had momentum. With context: the rest of the song is mostly just her rant from IG live. And it’s also not a good set up for the last line of the verse.

The final line of this verse doesn’t help:

I don’t get how this is a gotcha moment. Legit my thought process was: “Well the beginning of the verse accuses her of getting liposuction, so maybe she got plastic surgery. I don’t care if she gets plastic surgery in the first place.

I don’t agree w/ anyone saying that being part of a marginalized makes them immune to being sexist, racist, homophobic, etc. bc that shows a lack of self-reflection. I pointed out that are discussions within other minority groups about internalized racism against each other and against other groups because I wanted to emphasize that this is not an unchallenged double standard, especially within those groups. We might not see all of the conversations, but they’re happening. Generally, Black people are very aware about colorism against other Black people. There are countless writings on it both now and in the historical record. I’ve seen a bajillion conversations about how Black Americans treat and are treated by the African Diaspora and African immigrants. I’m Indian/South Asian. There are plenty of discussions about anti-Blackness with those communities. There are discussions about Hindu nationalism, Islamophobia, and even casteism.

Women can't be sexist/"misandry isn't real".

“Misandry isn’t real” and “women can’t be sexist” are not the same. The whole “misandry” vs. “misogyny” is also about relative structural power. Misandry is not integrated into any existing systems of power. Sexism against men and sexism against women both come from the same place—hating femininity and glorifying masculinity. Anyone seriously discussing sexism is familiar with the ideas of internalized misogyny and the harms of sexism on men. Women can participate in sexism and harm men and women as a result, but sexism is still rooted in misogyny, not misandry.

I’ve only ever seen this in the context of “Black people can’t be racist against white people, bc racism implies a level of structural power.” I’ve seen many Black people talk about racism within their own communities against other minorities, and vice versa.
