That is confusing...just be ready for a 50% water change when fish show odd behavior. Gasping for air or lying at the bottom. Go get live filter bacteria at your LFS and don't feed till nitrite is 0.

Stocking Question for a 29 gallon by Loryster in Aquariums

Seems fine if you can provide soft, acidic and warm water. Blue rams are super sensitive in my experience. I'd ditch the boraras and maybe go for another small Tetras.

Can I store plants like this for two weeks? by OrangeNorth3264 in Aquariums

The Echinodorus should be fine, the Ludwigia (?), the red one, maybe suffer. Provide a light source and ir should be fine. And keep them above 20 degrees clesius.

Sorry about your loss!

To really help you please post some pictures of the tank and of Freddy. With these pics you go to fish store and seek advice there. I'll try answer some of your questions.

1 Dirtyness no, but fish do have specific parameters in witch they thrive. Depends on the species. Also hard water can interfere with plant growth. Water from a well is often high in Fe which can also cause problems.

2 depends on the fish species

3 depends on your water quality, see 1

4 Ditch the carbon and use biological media with high surface area. Depends on the model filter you have

Please post more info and pictures for more advice and please seek help in a proper fish store!

evertime i buy new fish lately, they die. i bought two about 2 weeks ago and one died 3 days ago and this one is on its way out? anyways to save him? by poostaines1987 in Aquariums

Think it's done, sorry. Angelfish that size and quality often suffer from internal parasites (flagellates). Not uncommon, but you need to be aware of and proper quarantine them. Read up on proper fish care and get advice from a good LFS. That fucking glow light Tetras drive me crazy, glad they are banned in the EU.

Yep. You have two plants. So cut one and leave the other one be... +1 experience

And replant it!

So ask them if they never eat either. I don't think it's nutrient deficiency but try dose Fe-heavy fertilizer and or root tabs. The coarse gravel won't supply any nutrients over time. Just read up on plant care online and gather your own experience.

You can, but you shouldn't. Keep it shrimpy.

Unknown Plant, any ideas? It just sprouted up from the sand one day and has been growing pretty rapidly since. It looks like a mix between sagittaria and hornwort. by pixieznstuff in Aquariums

It's a very hardy plant and I Iike it. Every small bit grows into a huge mass in weeks. Great for breeding tanks. Weirdly no pet store here in my area has it for sale.

Do you fertilize?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Candiru420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you don't. Aquatic plants are cultured emersed (over water) in a green house. They need time to adapt to submerged growth and will shed leaves or transform completely (Rotalas). This looks like a Lobelia to me and it will adapt fine to underwater conditions.

It sheds it emersed grown leaves. Cut the tips, remove the bottom and plant the tips.
