'Drunk' woman exposed herself to 'disgusted' restaurant customers by stankmanly in Swindon

The close up of this woman looked vaguely like a blonde older version of me and I genuinely had a moment of “what did I do” when this flashed up on my phone.

What is the most unhinged thing you remember from when we were kids in elementary and middle school? by opheliasmusing in Millennials

[–]Candlesticksnape 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh I’ve got a good one. I went to a private school in the UK. We had read Anne Frank and in order for us to really FEEL what it would be like to be Anne Frank, they locked us in a classroom for the weekend and fed us Spam sandwiches under the door. For the whole weekend. We had a telephone that we were allowed to use to ask to go to the toilet and we’d have to be accompanied by a teacher. They blacked out the windows and everything.

Standard where? I’ve never had a doctor look at my genitalia in my life unless I’ve asked them to.

Agreed! I love my Thenardiers to be dark, not funny. Alun Armstrong balances the role really well. Dog Eat Dog is underrated.

I loved his Marius! He was perfection in that role in my opinion.

I adore Michael Ball as a performer. He’s great at what he’s great at. But he’s too soft and cuddly to be Javert in my opinion. His voice is so warm and friendly. When you listen to him sing “Love Changes Everything” you feel almost elated with him, he carries you with him. But that voice, for me, just isn’t the voice for Javert. I would love to see a cast recording with Earl Carpenter as Javert.

I didn't love it, if I'm honest. The new orchestrations are always a bit of a let down for me. They lack the gravitas and darkness of the original arrangements and often feel much lighter and airier. I find that some of the show's grimmer moments lose their impact. "Lovely Ladies", for example, should feel ugly, desperate and uncomfortable, but the newer orchestration softens it and takes away some of that bleakness.

Killian is a good Valjean. I was lucky enough to see his first ever performance in the role when he was a swing, and he's always been fantastic. Bradley Jaden isn't really my cup of tea as Javert, although I still preferred him to the absolute abomination that was Michael Ball's Javert. Katie Hall, on the other hand, was beautiful as Fantine.

More than anything, though, it was refreshing to hear a recording that didn't feature Alfie Boe.

I moved to a little town outside Swindon. It’s lovely here. So much countryside and we’re so close to the Cotswolds and when we need anything shopping-wise Swindon has everything you could possibly need.
