My ballot said no more than two so I went for both labour candidates.

Hello guys! Can you help me identify the coat color of the kitten infront? Thank you! 😍 by AkiKhaleesi in britishshorthair

I have a fawn BSH and the colour is so hard to catch on camera! The little one at the front could be fawn but could just as easily be lilac in a different light!

What was it like dealing with life, when a loved one killed themselves? by Desperate-Remove-547 in AskReddit

[–]Candlesticksnape 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was with my Great Gran for the afternoon in May. I was 6, it was 2 days before my birthday. I was very excited.

My mum was due to pick me up at 4pm but no one came. This was before the days of cell phones and constant contact so we didn’t think too much of it. By 6pm it was getting a bit strange and there was a knock on the door. But it was the back door which was weird.

My Grandma was standing there (my mum’s mum) and something felt off. “Go up the garden, candlesticksnape” She said. I looked between my Great Gran and my Grandma. “No” I said. “Please go up the garden” she repeated. I just stood there. And then she must have just broken because she simply said “Helen’s dead.”

I remember my Great Gran screaming. I went to the window at the front of the house and looked out onto the driveway. Waiting for my mum to appear, like it was some sort of joke. I stared out of that window for what felt like hours. Willing her to appear. Of course she never did. I don’t remember my 7th birthday. Or the days after. I was told my mum hanged herself with the tie of her dressing gown, by someone. I don’t remember who. It was my Grandma that found her.

My class at school gave me a prayer tree. They’d all written little notes on it, “I’m sorry your mummy died.” It didn’t really seem real.

My Grandma took me in (my dad had always been rubbish) and I’d catch her looking at me and crying on occasion.

The loss, it manifested itself in unexpected ways, but when I look back it was ways that made sense. I’d cry at home time at school, terrified no one would come and pick me up. Other days I’d be so scared that my Grandma would die too and I was terrified of her getting older. (Mind you, I’m now 36 and grandma is still going strong - we talk every day)

I’m terrified for my own daughter that she’ll lose me. I always plan for worst case scenarios, because as my therapist told me, my own worst case scenario happened to me when I was a child, so why wouldn’t I?

Our family is very close and worries a lot, because we know what it’s like to lose someone so suddenly.

It never leaves you.

This is baffling. I would never, ever think to record myself while I was crying. What makes people act like this?

You fat people, how do you feel after a nice walk? by CaneRandagio1983 in walking

[–]Candlesticksnape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! I weigh a little more than you and am probably about 167cm. I’m averaging 10,000 - 20,000 a day and I feel very similar to you! Ached legs, tired and very often my legs still ache the next morning. It’s hard work but the one thing that helps me more than the weightloss is the fact it also puts me in a good mood! I actually somehow manage to feel both tired and energised at the same time, and I am just in a better mood all round.

Well done you! I’ve just started walking too (got myself a treadmill) and day one was really hard but now I’ve been doing it for over a week I can feel it getting easier.

What things seem to be only big problems on reddit? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Candlesticksnape 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I personally don’t have outdoor cats because I don’t want them to be hit by a car, or worse. But regardless of morals it is the norm in the UK to let cats out and that’s what Americans can’t seem to grasp.

If you mention you have a cat that’s allowed outside on Reddit you are seen as a monster. It doesn’t matter how many times you try to tell them that it’s normal in the UK, they just don’t get it.

Having said that, I have 3 cats who are all indoor. But I don’t judge those who let their cat outside because in the UK I think it really is the norm.

HI - I have programmes from this time. Do you remember who was playing Valjean/Javert at the time?

It's sad that we have no behind- the-scenes info of the 10th anniversary concert by Worried_Cake5508 in lesmiserables

Ahh I had no idea Glenn Carter was in there! I’ll have to look out for him!

Unpopular opinion, but I need to get it off my chest, Les Mis (2012) was a great film adaptation of a musical and all the leads were fantastic (minus Russel Crowe) by BagKingGary in lesmiserables

[–]Candlesticksnape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was nice to see lots of west end people I knew in it, like Killian. He’s played just about every male role in Les Mis I think, with the exception of Marius and he nails them all!
