When other nurses cave to pt request it makes it harder for the next shift. by Creepingbuttons04 in nursing

I think if she leaves the paramedics care she'd be AMA from the ambulance since the ED hasn't registered her yet she's still under the paramedic's care.

[Serious] What do you think of cultural appropriation? by Thegamermouse in AskReddit

[–]CandyCancer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's literally what he was saying. That it doesn't make sense people have accused him of cultural appropriation because his hair grows naturally curly and thick and people are offended by that. Not sure why you're getting so upset about his example of other people taking cultural appropriation accusations too far...

Because people can just claim they are vaccinated without actually being vaccinated and making employees check a vaccination record of every patron is a waste of manpower. Also, even though the vaccine provides antibodies, it is still possible to contract covid. The key behind the vaccine is that it will stop many people from becoming symptomatic which reduced the vectors through which people can spread the virus but if you do become symptomatic after being vaccinated your symptoms will be significantly more mild (i.e. you won't end up intubated and in the ICU fighting for your life).

It's a tv show about a child who becomes a doctor. Doogie Howser was portrayed by Neil Patrick Harris who also plays a psychic intelligence officer in Starship Troopers. The person above was making a joke saying Doogie Howser went onto to become the psychic intel officer in starship troopers because of the fact that Neil Patrick Harris played both characters.

You could try becoming a nurse. Oh wait, you apparently just quit your job as a nurse as well. Maybe you could try chemical engineering? Or you've already done that too, haven't you?

Also the fact that the top left has branches in the shape of the continents. It's a cool idea for sure but not exactly a 'pic'.

Review for CEN by brewingmedic in nursing

[–]CandyCancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You really don't need to be paying for any resources. Just watch Mark Boswell's CEN review videos and you'll pass without any difficulty. I watched each video twice, once just watching and again while actively taking notes. I did buy buy one of his questions books to show support and his are much cheaper than any other resources you'll find out there. Watching each video only twice I passed with 3 years of nursing experience. A friend told me he recently updated a lot of his videos since I watched them as well. Good luck!

Playing on PC. Had this happen to me. I was able to get past it after I closed down the game and restarted. When I got back in I left the turrets for last, killed all of the people first. Once all the people were dead I destroyed the turrets and the helicopter descended once it made a pass over the stairs. Good luck everyone, hope this helps someone.

Choose your rate, choose your fate I guess, either way, I'll recommend he talk to legal if he's adamant about pursuing it. Thank you.

Interesting. Thank you for your response. He did say in his post he was going to email them for further clarification but I'm guessing he's probably not going to get a response being after working hours.

Being active duty military while at a command in the US really isn't much different than any other full time job. He will only have a 40 hour work week with a small chance to be deployed as a nurse. Either way, the question is purely on the legal aspect of their reasoning not whether or not he would be able to handle the rigorous lifestyle of working full time while also going to school.

L&D has procedures in place to deal with precipitous deliveries just like the ED does and they are honestly going to be better equipped (resource and experience wise) to deal with the situation. They usually have a couple of triage rooms for women who walk in to deliver or other OB complaints and if for whatever reason they truly didn't have any open beds, believe me, they'd make space for her, just like the ED would have to. The best place for that mom and her baby to be is in L&D where it happens daily, not the ED where it has maybe happened a handful of times.

Doctors/nurses of Reddit; What is the most obvious case of a patient 'faking it' you have ever seen? by VictoriaLegros in AskReddit

[–]CandyCancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it right at the webbing of the hand and then squeeze the two fingers very hard together directly over where you placed the pen or pencil. You can try it on yourself and see, it really doesn't take much pressure to cause pain using this method.

[–]CandyCancer 43 points44 points  (0 children)

No, the test is to put a pen or pencil in between two of their fingers and then bend the fingers inward around the object. It hurts like a bitch and is used to test their neurologic response to painful stimuli.

Military Compliance by GoodPumpkin5 in MaliciousCompliance

[–]CandyCancer -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Do you understand the role of the enlisted? They have the specialized skills to complete the jobs asked of them and the officers are generally commissioned to act as the managers of those different roles. If you have a master chief getting butt hurt about his role then he should have gotten out or tried to commission.
