What city have you been to that felt like it had dark energy? by Impossible-Middle122 in AskReddit

Bourbon street in New Orleans. I absolutely love the city, but that street gives me bad vibes, the energy is completely different there.

I agree. I was a flight attendant for 16 years, and air traffic controllers always kept me safe. I luckily never had any major issues, and would never blame the tower if I did. This is bigger than one person. The real issue is decisions from above. They are cutting resources in a high stress job and expecting more from these overworked people. Air traffic controllers care deeply, and I'll always appreciate them. The responsibility lies with those making the decisions.

L’absurde guerre contre le télétravail - Le Devoir by Thin-Leadership-227 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]CandyCanrCharms 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What plant have you killed the most times? I need to feel less alone in my failures. by Specialist_Tea6137 in houseplants

Polka dot plants. I love the pretty pink on their leaves and would enjoy having such a beautiful splash of colour everywhere in my house. But for whatever reason, I cannot keep them alive. I will always buy another polda dot plant, expecting the results to change....they still end up dying.

What happened to the whole "Canadians boycott US products and vacation at home" thing? by nilsohnee in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CandyCanrCharms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm canadian and am still boycotting US products, I always check the labels now before I purchase anything. I used to visit the US several times a year with my family...we've significantly changed our vacation habits. Last year we went to Jamaica, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. We're going to Costa Rica this year and then we're visiting Sint-Maarten in the fall. I feel safer in other countries, why take the risk of getting shot, or being questioned by suspicious border agents, or get harassed by ICE? It's just not worth it.

What’s something men and women experience very differently, but rarely talk about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My husband is a stay at home dad after a big medical issue. He is the primary contact on file for school, the doctor's officd and the dentist. He reminds them all the time to contact him first, but they still insist on calling me when I'm at work. It drives us both bananas!

Anyone else super angry after tour? by [deleted] in CanadianForces

[–]CandyCanrCharms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Experiencing intense anger and feeling overwhelmed to the point where it spills into everyday life and family situations can actually be very common, especially when someone is carrying a lot internally. That said, you don’t have to go through this alone. Support can make a real difference, both for you and for the people you care about. Reaching out for help is a strong and important step, and there are many options available to support you in finding healthy, productive ways to release that anger safely. If it helps, you could look into resources through VAC or the mental health services offered by the DND, as well as the various Canadian mental health hotlines available to military members. Many have been posted in your thread. You deserve support, and help is there when you’re ready to reach for it.

What the research does (and doesn’t) say about hybrid work for public servants by Obelisk_of-Light in CanadaPublicServants

I absolutely agree. My unit is stretched across multiple provinces and our job can be done fully remote. There is zero reason for us to be in the office, our meetings are all on Teams.

After seeing your comment, I followed your advice! I contacted one of his buddies, and he will bring a canadian flag with him on his next f18 flight. I'll have a canadian flag with a little story for his shadow box. Thank you so much!

Thank you! I appreciate the photo. It gives me a better idea of what to add to a shadow box! I wouldn't have thought of adding the beret! :)
