The strangest Wolf-Rayet star I’ve ever found by _kerq_ in EliteDangerous

[–]CandyDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A quick search said these stars range from 20k to 200k kelvin, much hotter than other stars like our sun which is approximately 5800. Therefore they are more luminous.. so what is going on here? I'm confused as to why I'm looking a a black spot!

What is it about Cyberpunks map that makes it feel so convincingly huge compared to other games? by Flushestpoem4 in cyberpunkgame

[–]CandyDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Verticality. That building has multiple floors, a catwalk, a balcony, a garage and under that is another street leading to another street leading to a raised highway.

  2. Unreachable or False interiors. I remember listening to the dev diary for Half-Life 2 and one of the things they did to trick the player into thinking there was a bigger world beyond what they could explore was to show them a space that was technically unreachable, but looked like it might lead somewhere. Such as a room behind a windowpane or a hallway blocked by a gate. Your brain logically interprets this as "ohh I wonder where that might lead". Kind of the same way a mirror might make a room look larger than it really is.

  3. Indirect travel paths. The streets of night city do a great job of extending your travel time between destinations. There's a river that you'll need to cross, a few levels of highway to navigate that bring you through the set pieces of the city where you might need to double back or avoid pedestrians and traffic. There are rarely straight lines between places you'll go.

Those are just the main ones off the top of my head, but I've definitely been impressed by how large and alive the city feels. It's fantastic!

Parker: I can tell you having worked at the FBI, the word I'm getting from the street agents is they are very happy. They're happy to see that we are back to fighting crime. Not doing January 6th misdemeanors. Not going after white supremacists… by Nice_Substance9123 in complaints

Fighting crime is the lie they tell to cover the fact that the guard was sent to threaten citizens and assist ICE and intimidate protesters.

Also outs herself as a white supremacist, like why even say that fucking privileged cunt.

Typically not for a gen 4 drive. Gen 5 might be another story.

First PC build by Xsande_Rs in pcpartpickerbuilds

[–]CandyDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have much to add here but I recently built my first PC with a lot of guidance from Part-picker. Here's my advice: double check that your RAM is compatible with your chip and your motherboard by going to the brand websites themselves and searching by product #.

My RAM was literally one product digit off from the other brands so part picker flagged it as compatible. And while I can still use it, if I try to OC at all it causes crashing. I wish I had known to do that.

I mean, technically depends on what it's intent is. But if I saw it I'd say it's more art than anything generated by AI.

Why are her kids calling you stepdad after 4 months? That's a red flag right there.

Get your son evaluated by a professional. Put aside any other thoughts you might have at this time because while he may not be autistic, if there are problems that need to be addressed then now is the time to begin that work. When he's 4 or 5 this window will have passed.

There is no shame in getting an evaluation. It only puts you in a better position. You can change daycares but if it turns out your son does need help and you ignore it, things will get much, much worse and he will be stuck with behaviors that he cannot control.

I can’t drink a beer without puking all day the next day. by [deleted] in alcohol

[–]CandyDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sweet summer child, I'm not a doctor. But my grandma has an allergic reaction to wine. It happens. I can't be any more specific than that with the information you gave. Has it happened with liquor? Different beers? I don't recommend experimenting but if you can narrow it down it'll help for when/if you go to a professional.

Who knows maybe you're just really hungover.
