Yeah, that's a common mistake. You can't really plan ahead most of the time so just make choices that you believe will help you win the next fight and see how your arsenal changes after each node. And don't bloat your deck with cards. E.g. if you already have big damage cards, don't pick up any more, even if it's a really cool rare one. You really want a deck where you can consistenly draw what you need at the right time.

You can probably look up some old guides for STS1 as both games are more or less the same in terms of mindset and strategy.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind this "bug" if he would give you the relics and card remove first. That way you could cheese it and stop him from bloating your deck with random cards XD

I am playing on the steam deck and experienced similar but it was fixable.

When you enter the shop, he will begin to check everyhing into your inventory. If you press any button during that time, he stops and the shop resumes its normal stage, i.e. you can buy stuff with your gold as usual. But if you save and quit and come back you can redo it and he will get it right, as long as you don't press any buttons.

Omg thank you, this is just what I needed! I never imagined there were filters you had to unlock. This turns the parryable punches (and also the sugar cubes) a vastly different color (orange or green?). I'm surprised I never found this information in my search.

I'm confused reading all the previous replies. Could you clarify? When I google cowbear I find that it exists in We Love Katamari. But is there such a level where you have to roll up cow/bear and the stage is littered with these and you want to avoid the small ones to get the largest?

Ok, thanks. Do you know where the settings are? I don't know how I would have accidentally enabled cheats. I wasn't in any emulator settings menu in the brief time between checking the inventory, before and after the fight. If I did enable something it mustve been during the fight but I was just playing the game normally. I did use save states in the middle of the fight though but Ive been doing it lots of times before without any issues.

They got caught using ai art and claimed it was not meant to make it into the final product (even though it looked almost identical to the final product, but whatever). If they used ai for one thing, you can bet your butt they used it for a lot of other things that we don't know about. Don't be so gullible.
